Inkspirations Challenge #55 - sketch

Paper: Pretty in Pink, Real Red, Love Impressions DSP, Whisper White
Ink: Basic Grey
Accessories: Felt, Neutrals Designer Buttons, Mat Pack & Piercer, Billboard Sizzlit Die, Punch Trio, Subtles Brads, Linen Thread

Did you notice yet? NO STAMPS!! I don't know what I was thinking ...! LOL :) Kidding, of course. This layout from Keesh was a challenge and I'd decided to make a single piece of paper look like it was a bunch of square pieced together by scoring, sponging, and piercing a line of stitches on the Designer Paper. It just kind of all came together from there. I was also inspired by this week's Tuesday Trigger when creating this one. Not sure where the grey came in but it did :) The rest of the card was nice and simple after getting that paper part done!

Please check out the challenge on the Inkspirations blog today! I'm sure you'll love what the rest of the team has put together for your inspiration. Link up your project by Thursday next week!!!

Colour Q Challenge #69

Stamps: Elements of Style, Fresh Cuts
Paper: Crumb Cake, Cajun Craze, Watercolour Paper, Sunny Garden DSP
Ink: Cajun Craze, Rich Razzleberry, Stazon™
Accessories: Crumb Cake Seam Binding, Dimensionals®, Top Note Die, AquaPainter™, Cutter Kit, Basic Pearls

I had the hardest time ever with this colour challenge ... doesn't help that my mojo is missing and has been for a while. it's actually a struggle to stamp lately :( We've had a week and a half of sick children, one after the other ... and I'm feeling a tad overwhelmed by life at the moment but I don't want to disappoint you by not posting! Eventually, life will even itself out again but in the meantime, I'll do my best :)

Anywho, you didn't come here to read about my self-pity-party, did you?! Like I said, these colours were a challenge -- and that's exactly what I LOVE about Colour Q! Arielle really challenges everyone to get out of their comfort zone with colour combinations and I must say that the DT has outdone themselves week after week.

For this card, I started out with another awesome challenge -- 2 Sketches 4 You. I am SO sad to see that this is their last sketch as I find that Kazan and Laura have the best, challenging sketches I have come across. They are never the same, they always have totally different elements, etc. Love love love them and I will so miss them. I do, however, wish them all the best as they seek out other avenues of creativity!

I really am blathering on, aren't I?! Feeling rather verbose, I suppose ... anyway (that's got to be my most used word ...), the sketch. Another challenging layout with the one element off to the top and side. I decided to watercolour the Elements of Style image and pop up two of the flowers just above the sentiment.

Hope you like my card after reading all this blah blah blah :) Have yourselves a wonderful day and don't forget to check out the Colour Q challenge and the Royal Court's oh-so-fab creations!

OH, nearly forgot -- TODAY marks the beginning of Sale a Bration!!! I know, how could I forget something like that?????

Creative Crew Challenges - Scrapbook Inspiration

Here's a scrapbook page I'd made for the Creative Crew Challenge using My Digital Studio. It's for the "Scrapbook Inspiration Focus" (keyword CCREW0111SF) challenge. My hubby had taken these pics as our youngest child was waking up from his nap ... a stage that is going away quickly! He wakes up so cute, takes SO long to wake up otherwise he's the king of grumps. He actually lets us cuddle him!

Thanks for looking and I hope you play along with me!

Have a great day :)

P.S. Check out THIS post for the deets on ALL these challenges!

Inkspirations Challenge #54

Paper: Blushing Bride, Whisper White, Early Espresso, Pear Pizzazz
Ink: Blushing Bride, Early Espresso

Hey everyone! I hope today finds you all well and creative! Keesh has got another great challenge for us on the Inkspirations blog -- a colour challenge! These colours are absolutely GORGEOUS together and I had such fun :)

I pulled out a set that hasn't seen use in a little while - Fifth Avenue Floral. I didn't watercolour it at all making this a really simple but beautiful card. What do you think? I hope you like it!

Please check out the challenge on the inkspirations blog and link up your creation there as well. Can't wait to see what YOU create! The Inkspirations team is loaded up with all sorts of fabulous projects too so you'll just have to check their projects out as well.

Have a great day!

Ink: Stazon™, Real Red Craft ink
Accessories: Square Lattice Embossing Folder, Dimensionals®, Real Red Dotted Grosgrain (retired), Clear Embossing Powder, Mat Pack & Piercer

Good morning :) Sorry about no post yesterday ... I was too busy shoveling snow! We've seriously gotten dumped on over the last week! I'll have to take a pic of our yard tomorrow. Anyway, I've got something crafty to show you today :) I have a class tomorrow evening so I figured I'd better get cracking on designing projects for that and this will be one of the three designs the class attendees will be making. They get to make two of this one! I really wanted to play with the Love Impressions Designer Series Paper from the current mini and use a bunch of the different patterns at one time.

Hope you like it! Have a great day!

Colour Q Challenge #68

Stamps: Elements of Style
Paper: Cherry Cobbler, So Saffron, Always Artichoke, Sunny Garden DSP, Watercolour Paper
Ink: Poppy Parade, Cherry Cobbler, Always Artichoke, Chocolate Chip, Stazon™
Accessories: AquaPainter™, Dimensionals®, Vanilla Seam Binding, Eyelet Border Punch, Mat Pack, Piercer, Stampin' Sponge

Welcome to another ColourQ challenge! We're already at 68 :) These colours are totally beautiful together and I would never have paired them on my own, especially Cherry with Poppy. I was in the mood to watercolour so I pulled out the Elements of Style stamp set to play with. I didn't actually have a ton of time so this card really did not take long, perhaps 30 minutes?

Hope you like my card! Please see what the Royal Court has come up with (links in my sidebar) and see the challenge on the ColourQ blog! Have fun :)

Creative Crew Challenges - xoxo

Stamps: I {heart} Hearts
Paper: Love Letter DSP, Whisper White, Real Red
Ink: Pink Pirouette, Real Red, Regal Rose, Basic Black Marker
Accessories: Corner Rounder, Real Red Wide Grosgrain, Dimensionals®, Mat Pack Piercer, Rub Ons

The Creative Crew challenge this month, or I should say, one of the four challenges, is to think about the next upcoming holiday which happens to be Valentines (keyword CCREW0111HF). This also happens to fit with the Colour Focus challenge too (keyword CCREW0111cF)!

I pulled out I {Heart} hearts to play with since I hadn't played with it in a while :) I also used a new designer paper called Love Letter -- it's got great texture with all that dry embossing on it. The piece I chose to use has these hearts dry embossed along the bottom along with a saying but I cut that part off because I only wanted to use those hearts!

Overall, the card is pretty simple - rounded corners, a little ribbon accordioned along the bottom, and three hearts cut out - one with a rub on sentiment!

Hope you like my card today, thanks for stopping in!

P.S. Check out THIS post for the deets on ALL these challenges!

But, feel free to ask me something you'd like to know and I'll see if I can tell you :) Now, I'm supposed to tag an additional 8 bloggers to nominate with this award but I really don't like to miss anyone special -- there are TONS of great bloggers out there :) Feel free to snag this for yourself and if you feel like playing, play along!!

My First Control Freaks Swap!

Stamps: Easter Blossoms, Music Notes Standard Wheel
Paper: Very Vanilla, Regal Rose
Ink: Regal Rose, Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Very Vanilla Seam Binding, XL Decorative Label Punch, Dimensionals®

This is the card I'd made for the latest Control Freaks swap. It was my first swap with them so I hope I made a card that was good! I was actually a little nervous as well as short on time ... I'm okay with a deadline, just not a quick one! Ah well ... I like this one a lot. It's simple, it's easily reproduced, and it's easy for YOU to recreate! I was looking at making something that was a little less on the supply list needs :)

I stamped the blossom stem on the upper portion of the regal rose card stock and then I wheeled the lower portion. I actually had them as separate pieces of card stock that I'd taped together but really, it could easily be done on one piece.

Anywho, hope you like my card! Thanks for visiting my blog, have a great day!

Inkspirations Challenge #53

Stamps: Nature Walk
Paper: Crumb Cake, Old Olive, First Edition Specialty DSP, Early Espresso, Chocolate Chip, Watercolour Paper
Ink: Stazon™, various for colouring
Accessories: Petals-a-Plenty Embossing Folder, Eyelet Border Punch, Dimensionals®, Old Olive Grosgrain, AquaPainter

Good morning (or afternoon, depending on where you're visiting from!)! It's been a cold cold week here ... right now, as I type this, it's -26C so I've been taking lots of time to stamp :) This week's sketch from Inkspirations is a fab one (aren't they all?) and I paired it with a new stamp set called "Nature Walk". It's a new set in the Occasions mini and I adore it!

The girsl in my club will be making this card tonight and I hope they love it as much as I do. It's got texture, sponging, watercolouring ... yum!

Hope you like my card! Thanks for popping in and sharing your thoughts with me. Please check out the rest of the team's creations on the Inkspirations blog and link up your creation there too! Can't wait to see your creation :)

Thinking of You

Stamps: Nature Walk, En Francais, Sincere Salutations
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Watercolour Paper
Ink: Stazon™, Cherry Cobbler, Chocolate Chip, Crumb Cake
Accessories: Early Espresso Satin, Scallop Border punch, Dimensionals®, AquaPainter™

Before I get into some deets about today's card, I wanted to answer a question that I'd been asked but unfortunately was unable to email back! Trisha Hoffman had asked:
Renée, in the background of your photo of your layout to take photos for posting online, U have a rack with ribbon on it. First, where did U get this rack and#2 how did you find one that had a dowel that is small enough to fit thru SU ribbon spools?
The ribbon rack was made for me by my husband as per my request! I'd found 1/4"metal rods at the hardware store that fit inside the spools and he cut it down to 12" lengths to fit inside. The reason I chose metal is because even though ribbon doesn't seem heavy, wood still tends to sag and I don't like that ... :). Hope that helps!

and now, onto today's card!

I'd worked on this one when trying to pull myself out of stamping-malaise ... I tried a different way of scrunching up the ribbon and discovered that it was too time consuming (at least for this type of ribbon). Basically, you cut into the center of one edge of the ribbon, pull a centre thread and keep pulling until you get the desired scrunchiness (yes, I know that's not a word). Anyway, it took way longer than using sticky strip and folding the ribbon back and forth in an accordion!

Hope you like today's card! See you tomorrow with the next Inkspirations challenge!

For You

Stamps: Butterfly Prints, A Word for You
Paper: Whisper White, Naturals White
Ink: Crumb Cake
Accessories: Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, Sticky Strip, Square Lattice Embossing Folder, Dimensionals®, Heart Pressed Letterpress, Pearls, Vanilla Seam Binding, Butterfly Punch, Corner Rounder

This card was the first card I'd made after a couple of weeks without stamping anything and it took me FOREVER. It's really simple but somehow, the mojo just wasn't flowing quickly.

I used a new tool to me -- the letterpress plate called Heart Pressed. Can't say I'm in love with it at the moment but I'll have to play with it more to see what it can do. I do LOVE the look it gives though! I think you can see that detail a little better in this second pic, eh?

Hope you like this card :) Have yourself a wonderful day!

Colour Q Challenge #67

Stamps: Cheep Talk
Paper: Melon Mambo, Whisper White, Taken with Teal, Basic Black
Ink: Taken with Teal, Melon Mambo, Tangerine Tango, Kiwi Kiss
Accessories: Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder, Dimensionals®, Tangerine Tango Striped Grosgrain

Good morning! I'm finally getting back into the groove and getting some stamping projects done and it feels SO good!! So, I hope to now get back to my regularly programmed schedule so YOU can see something fun everyday!
This week's ColourQ Challenge is a bright one, perfect for fighting off those winter blues. It's been snowing like crazy this past weekend so it was kind if interesting to work on something so bright and cheerful when all I could see was all that snow! I pulled out a set I haven't used in a while, Cheep Talk, and played around with another challenge called "Follow the Recipe". Basically, I cased the layout of the inspiration card and changed all the colours and design to use the Colour Q colours.

Anwyho, hope you like what you see and are inspired to create something of your own :) Please check out the Royal Court creations on the ColourQ blog and enter your project there too.

Thanks for visiting, have a fabulous day!

Creative Crew Challenges - Kindness

Stamps: Nature Walk, Occasional Quotes
Paper: Baja Breeze, Naturals Ivory, Early Espresso
Ink: Chocolate Chip Craft & Classic, Pear Pizzazz, Baja Breeze, Crumb Cake
Accessories: Decorative Label Punch, Pearls, Dimensionals®, Early Espresso Satin Ribbon, Lg Oval Punch

Here's the second card I'd made for the Creative Crew Challenge. It's another for the "Catalog Focus" challenge!

I played around with another new set called "Nature Walk". It has a bunch of fabulous images in the set and this floral stem is one of them. I'd embossed it using Chocolate Chip craft ink and then coloured it in with markers. I added the stems also in the background with Crumb Cake ink.

Thanks for looking, hope you like it! Please play along with us by posting your project on SplitCoast with the keywords so we can all see what you've made!!

Renée

Best Wishes

Stamps: Easter Blossoms, Short & Sweet
Paper: Love Letters DSP, Naturals Ivory, Whisper White
Ink: Blushing Bride, Versa Mark, Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Scallop Trim Border Punch, Dimensionals®, Ovals Bigz Die, Basic Pearls, Celery Seam Binding, Clear Embossing Powder

I had made a card for a featured stamper challenge a while ago but hadn't gotten a chance to upload it yet to my blog! The stamper being featured had a fabulous gallery and I had fun looking through it trying to choose one project to case! I kept her layout and the simplicity but changed the colours, changed the circle to an oval and added ribbon and pearls!

This is a new set in the Occasions mini called Easter Blossoms. I stamped the silhouette image and then added a background using the A to Z image. Very very very faintly on the upper portion is the blossom image that comes in this set as well. It's barely noticeable but for me, it takes away the starkness of that part :)

Hope you like my card! Thanks for visiting my blog :)

Inkspirations Colour Challenge #52

Stamps: Agnes Ketto, Sentiment (Stamping Bella)
Paper: Whisper White, Riding Hood Red, Patterned Paper (retired) (Stampin' Up!); Pure Luxury 80lb White (Gina K)
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Memento)
Accessories: Copic Markers, Prima Flowers, Pearls, Pop Dots, Eyelet Border Punch, Scallop Rectangle & Straight Edge Nestabilities, Glitter Pen (Gelly Roll)

My daughter Maria turned 5 last week and these are the birthday invitations I made for her party. She chose the images after looking through my books and books of unmounted stamps! I believe we'd used this one last time too but it's her favorite right now, probably because it's a pretty girl in a pretty dress :) Her favorite colour right now happens to be orange too which worked out perfectly for this new colour challenge from Inkspirations! I found the closest matches with my copic markers and coloured "Agnes" in. Overall, it's simple but it took a little while to colour three of these girls in ...

Please check out the challenge on the Inkspirations Challenges blog and see what the rest of the team has made using these colours! You can link up your creation there too :)

Have a great day!
