Colour Q Challenge #48

Stamps: Watercolour Trio
Paper: Crumb Cake/Kraft, Cherry Cobbler, Daffodil Delight, Very Vanilla, Ski Slope DSP (retired)
Ink: Bermuda Bay, Cherry Cobbler, Tangerine Tango, Daffodil Delight, Crumb Cake/Kraft
Accessories: Oval die, Dimensionals®, Square Lattice Embossing Folder, Eggshell Seam Binding

This one was a touch difficult. Could be because I hadn't stamped in a few weeks, I dunno ... either way, I started and stopped several times before settling on this one. I used the Mojo Monday sketch from last week as my starting point. It's too bad this stamp set didn't make it into the main catalogue 'cause now it's retired! I wonder if there's a possibility for it making the next catalogue? I doubt it, but you never do know ...

Anyway, pretty simple card overall! This will be a card in my class tomorrow night (the 8th). I'm holding a stamp a stack and there will be 4 designs available for people to make at the class (which is pretty full at the moment).

Please check out the challenge on the Colour Q blog and see what the Royal Court DT came up with (links are in my sidebar)! Thanks for stopping by my blog today :)

Scrappy Sunday!

Here's another MDS page! My son's birthday was earlier this month and so I actually got to finishing the scrap pages of his tenth birthday already! I wanted to create a film strip, but one that was a LOT larger than the normal one. So, I put a strip of Basic Black textured card stock down on an angle and then I added tiny square punches of Whisper White along the edges. lots of copying and pasting but overall, I was happy with how it turned out! It's not perfect but I'm perfectly fine with that :)

How to Watercolour!

Here's a follow-up video to yesterday's Inkspirations challenge post. As I was making the card, I did film the watercolouring part but decided to cut out that part of the video for yesterday and have it stand on it's own as a fun tutorial! So, this one is all about how I watercoloured the main image. Hopefully it's clear :)

Thanks for watching! Have a great weekend!!

As you can see, I rotated this week's sketch from Keesh when I created my card! Chantelle is hosting this week's challenge and has added a twist of polka dots. So, when you create your challenge card, think about adding polka dots to your project :) and link it up on her blog!

I was in the mood to play with blues and yellows so that's where the colours came from -- sort of a last ditch effort of summer colours before fall hits ... and it's coming ... I don't like fall. I love winter but not fall - too much mud and rain ... :)

I've made a video for this card so I hope you enjoy watching it and are able to pick up some different tricks and tips! It's really fun being able to create these although I feel a little odd talking to myself as I film it, LOL!

I had asked a few friends for some tips and insight into my last video and they recommended a few things to include! Here's one of them, the cutting measurements for the layers on this card :) I was going to include them in the video but I decided instead to include them right here in the post:

Bashful Blue4¼" x 11" -- scored @ 5½"
Very Vanilla3¾" +1/16" x 5" +1/16"

two 5" x ½" strips for scalloped edges

scrap for sentiment
Marina Mist3¾" x 5"
Play Date DSP1 ½" x 5"
Elegant Soirée DSP3¼” x 3¼”
Watercolour Paper2½” x 3”
Seam Binding Ribbon25”
Very Vanilla Grosgrain3”
Neutrals Brads2

Please check out the rest of the Inkspirations team, I'm sure they'll wow you! (links are in my sidebar). Link up your challenge on Chantelle's blog this week and don't forget to think about adding polka dots as this week's twist!

Here's the last of the three cards from my "New Catalogue" class! The third was an Inkspirations challenge from the week of the class (see HERE). I was inspired by a sketch I'd seen on SCS. For some reason, I never got around to uploading it ... so here it is now! I thought I'd play with some of the new In Colours for this card. I think these three colours go together quite nicely!

Anywho, hope you like my card today! Thanks for visiting :)

Artisan Award reject/non-winner/etc - Tias and Papa

Hi all!

This is the last of my scrapbook pages and of my Artisan entry for this year. I'm really feeling like I'll not bother entering again ... well, we'll see, eh? Anywho, like I said, this is the last scrapbook page and it's my absolute favorite! I love these pics of my hubby, Paul, and our youngest child, Mattias (we call him Tias!).

Anywho, hope you've enjoyed seeing these projects! Have a great day!

"You're on my mind"

Stamps: Upsy Daisy, Friends 24/7
Paper: Whisper White, Baja Breeze, Early Espresso
Ink: Whisper White, Baja Breeze, Early Espresso, Chocolate Chip Craft ink
Accessories: Scallop Edge punch, Early Espresso Satin Ribbon, Dimensionals®, Clear Embossing Powder

This is one of the cards that I'll be making at my Stamp a Stack coming up in September! If you want to see what my classes are, just check out the new tab I've created that shows my current newsletter (it's up above) :). I started this one with a sketch from 2 Sketches 4 You. I haven't played with many current challenges lately other than the Inkspirations and Colour Q challenges ... I can't wait until school starts and normalcy returns!

Soooooooooo, anyway, I created a video tutorial for the ribbon so you can see exactly how to make that ribbon. I don't know what others call it, I simply call it "accordion" ribbon since that's the technique!

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial :) Thanks for stopping by my blog! Have a great day!

Now, these colours for today's challenge are just gorgeous! When I saw them, I thought that they'd fit for my Christmas cards class this past week!

Colour Q Challenge #46

Hey everyone! I wasn't sure if I was going to get this challenge done on time but I managed. I'd had an awful night the other day -- basically no sleep. Now, I can live on little sleep but not no sleep ... ugh. Anyway, it's all over now and I made this card! This will be a card for my upcoming Christmas Cards class tomorrow night (it's not too late to sign up!) at 7:30pm. The colours don't look like they'd suit a Christmas card, but they really do once you play with them!

ETA: I made a video tutorial for this card! It took me a while to get it uploaded so I'm adding it after the fact but, it's here now! Please let me know what you think?

Please check out the challenge on the Colour Q blog and see what the rest of the Royal Court DT came up with this week! Thanks for visiting my blog, hope you like today's project!

Artisan Award reject/non-winner/etc - Jake

Here's the second of three scrap pages! I LOVED this picture of my son, Jacob, the moment I saw it. He absolutey adored being at third beach in Stanley Park a couple of summers ago and couldn't get over all the fun things he could see and play with! A child rarely needs more than a shovel and a bucket at a beach, eh?

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you've enjoyed seeing this scrapbook page! See you tomorrow for the next Colour Q challenge!

Scrappy Sunday!

Hey everyone! It feels like ages since I've posted ... I know, I know, only a few days, right? Well, in reality, it's been a few weeks since I actually sat down to post anything. Everything so far has been pre-posted! We've been in and out so much this summer that I've hardly had time to do anything! I just got my pre-order of Holiday mini items (begins September 1st) and I haven't had any time to look at it ... sad.

Anyway, here's another edition of Scrappy Sunday! I hope you've enjoyed seeing these pages! I have worked on figuring out how to video them and I've got one ready to edit so we'll see where that goes. I've noticed that I really fly by the seat of my pants as I design these pages ...

I hope you have a fabulous day!

Inkspirations Challenge #35

Stamps: Holiday LineUp, Many Merry Messages, Sassy Sparkles Jumbo Wheel
Paper: Soft Suede, Christmas Cocoa DSP (retired), Whisper White, Early Espresso
Ink: Early Espresso, Soft Suede, Poppy Parade, Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Circle #2 Die, Early Espresso Grosgrain, Dimensionals®, Crystal Effects

ETA: yes, you may (or may not) have seen this post last week! I was on vacation and away from a computer and missed the email about a mini-vacation ... soooooooooo, here it is again! I ran out of time to make a new project ... :)

YES! It's a Christmas card! LOL!!! I LOVE making Christmas cards and I have a class later this month where we are getting a jump start on some of those cards! So, with that and the current Inkspirations sketch challenge in mind, I pulled out some Christmas sets (and some music!) to play :) Sorry, I don't have the image of the sketch for you at the moment but you can check out Keesh's blog for the sketch!

I have oodles of this DSP left over from last season so I thought I'd put it to good use this year and combine it with my new fav colour: Early Espresso. Fabulous colour! I always loved that deep rich brown that I could get in a different manufacturers paper so I was very excited to see a similar tone being offered by SU (my main supplier!).

Anyway, please check out the challenge on Keesh's blog and see what the rest of the Inkspirations team came up with this week! You can link up YOUR creation on Keesh's blog!

Hope you like my Christmas card! Have a fabulous day!

Occasions Class Card

Ink: Baja Breeze, Wild Wasabi, Marina Mist
Accessories: Square Lattice Embossing Folder, Dimensionals®, Designer Button

This is another card from a class I held in July (an "Occasions" class). I had stamped and coloured the images before dry embossing that panel! Fun look, eh?! I hope you like my card! Thanks for stopping by!

From the Heart

ahhh, the last of the cards for my sister-in-law! What am I going to do next week?! LOL :) So, like I said, this is the last of the cards with the "Remembrance Day" theme, or at least that's what I ended up with interpreting. I started out by stamping the red flowers and then I stamped the white ones and embossed them. A little sponging over them for some added fun and I was pretty much done! I wanted to keep all of them fairly simple and fairly "low", meaning -- mailable for a single stamp! I wasn't sure how my SIL was planning on giving them out so I figured I'd better be safe than sorry, right?

Hope you've liked seeing all these cards! Have a great day and thanks for stopping by :)

Renée
