Thinking of You

Stamps: Thoughts & Prayers
Paper: Pink Pirouette, Blushing Bride, Whisper White, Chocolate Chip, Regal Rose
Ink: Blushing Bride, Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Green Microbeads, Dimensionals®, Old Olive Grosgrain, Butterfly Embosslit, Crystal Effects

Here's another of the cards we made at my class this past Wednesday! I wanted to do something pink for some reason! One card was mostly blue, another was mostly green, and so here's one that is different yet again! I started out with Laura's sketch (from 2 Sketches 4 You) and went from there. I love starting out with a sketch! The microbeads were adhered with crystal effects.

Hope you like this card! Have a fabulous day and weekend!

Inkspirations Challenge #34

Stamps: Countryside, Wonderfully Worn, En Francais, Occasional Quotes
Paper: Crumb Cake/Kraft, Close to Cocoa, Watercolour Paper, Urban Garden DSP (retired)
Ink: Close To Cocoa, Not Quite Navy, More Mustard
Accessories: Linen Thread, Dimensionals®, Chocolate Chip Striped Grosgrain (retired), Kraft Corduroy Button, AquaPainter™

This week's challenge twist comes from Sarah-Jane! Add buttons! So, when you go to make your creation using these colours, make sure you add buttons (only if you want to, of course!).

I chose to use a new-to-me-yet-uninked stamp set called Countryside. I paired it with a bunch of other stamps too (as usual, eh?)! I lvoed this truck image the moment I saw it. Since I'm always trying to find something perfect for the guys in my life, this seemed to be perfect. None of my guys are really into golf, fishing, hunting, sports, etc ... makes it tough seeing as how SO many people think that that is "perfect for guys".

Anyway, I digress ... I started out creating the base layer of papers ... I hand stitched them together (sort of - glued them down first and then pierced holes and then stitched it!) and purposely wrecked the edges of the top piece for some fun? Then, I added the ribbon by accordioning it over some Sticky Strip and glue dots (to hold the loops down). The truck was watercoloured using an AquaPainter and the ink from the lids of the ink pads.

Good enough deets this time?! I guess I'm feeling a bit more chatty today :) Please check out the rest of the Inkspirations' teams creations (links are in my sidebar) and link up your creation on Keesh's blog!

Thanks for stopping by my blog today! I so appreciate all your visits and comments!!

Just for you, again ...

The sentiment is a perfectly random one, good for any occasion and that's why I used it. I figured that my SIL could use this card for anything she'd set her heart on! So, yes, this is another in my series of cards for her! I can't handle making too many of the same card so I'd made a bunch of different designs and several of each (sometimes 3, sometimes 4, and once 8!). This uses that set called "Artistic Etchings" yet again. I paired it with some retired patterned paper (Bella Bleu) that I really loved. It's calm and soothing, anyway.

I hope you like this card! Thanks for visiting my blog :)

And now you can earn extra $35 hostess rewards when you host a qualifying workshop of over $450! Contact me for more details (a contact link is above) and read THIS flyer from Stampin' Up! Anybody loves more free stuff, right?!!

Birthday Blog Hop!

Stamps: Crazy for Cupcakes
Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black, Haiku DSP (retired), Daffodil Delight
Ink: Stazon™, Daffodil Delight Marker, Old Olive Marker
Accessories: Dimensionals®, Old Olive Grosgrain, Linen Thread

It's LeAnne's birthday today!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LeAnne!!!!!

We're throwing her a Birthday Celebration blog just for her :) So, with that in mind, I set out to make a fabu birthday card using Mercy's sketch. I haven't played in any current challenge for quite a while so I figured it was about time to get something done, eh?! I've been itching to play with some bright colours and the recent Stampin' Celebration challenge was just that! I pulled out the bright paper that I've had for a while and played around with it. The entire cupcake is paper pieced (love this cupcake best with that technique!) and then I accordioned some ribbon and stitched the ends with some linen thread.

Hope you like my card! Thanks for popping by today!

Colour Q Challenge #43

Stamps: Punch Potpourri, Woodgrain, Because I Care
Paper: Old Olive, Early Espresso, Bermuda Bay Prints DSP (retired), Whisper White, Peach Parfait
Ink: Peach Parfait, Early Espresso, Old Olive
Accessories: Full Heart Punch, Bird Punch, Dotted Ribbon Border Punch, Dimensionals®

This is a fun combo, eh? Really retro, or at least that's what I think! My chit chat is going to be limited ... I've got a headache ... ugh. Methinks I need more sleep when my hubby is away. Early mornings and I don't get along!

Anyway, this will be one of my class cards for tomorrow night. The class is almost full (only 3 spots left) so if you want to sign up, you'd better do it soon!

Please check out the colour challenge on the Colour Q blog and check out what the Royal Court has come up with using these colours! Links are in my sidebar!!

Have a great day! Thanks for visiting!!

Artisan Award reject/non-winner/etc - Hello Baby

I had found this cute wooden basket at the local dollar store when I was thinking up stuff to make for a 3D project. It had had a bunch of bath stuff in it but I ended up chucking it (not so nice stuff, IMO, and not worth saving). I covered the outside and used different sanding tools to get the scallop edges looking nice and clean. I managed to get all the legs/lines of the birds to look straight up and down with some creative wrapping (ok, not so creative ...!) and then I added a handle (which originally was rough jute twine) of Chocolate Grosgrain that was backed with a strip of cardstock to give a little more stability to the ribbon.

The lamb was also a dollar store find (they actually have some really cute stuffies!) and I wrapped some linen thread around the neck and added a matchbook card.

I figure a new mom could take the stuffie out and then use the basket for all sorts of different things (washcloth holder, baby supplies like diaper pins, powder, vaseline, cottan balls, lotion ...). I thought this was the cutest project ever! Well, at least for me :)

Thanks for stopping by my blog today! Please check out what Julie is posting this week! I'll be back next week with the other 3D project!

See you tomorrow for the Colour Q challenge!

Scrappy Sunday

A few weeks ago we had gone to my husband's parents place for the weekend. They were celebrating their 45th wedding anniversary! We haven't had everyone in one place for quite some time so it was really nice to get back together again. We all live quite scattered across the country!

My mother-in-law had hired a photographer for the day and he took pics of each individual family as well as group shots. I managed to take a couple of the whole day as well and even though we'll be getting copies of the photographer's pics, I still wanted to scrap the ones I took while the memories are fresh. I'll probably add a second page to this event for our scrapbook!

The layout for this page comes from Soul Scrappers (sketch #14) and I had flipped the sketch so that the flowers could be seen (I could've figured out how to flip the paper but I didn't think of that until now, hee hee!). The scallop border is a series of circle punches lined up side by side ...

Anywho, hope you like the page! I was wondering, would video step-by-step of MDS pages help anyone? I don't know how to do that from the computer but I can learn easily enough! If you have any suggestions, just let me know!!

Inkspirations Challenge #33

Stamps: Punch Potpourri, Paradise, A Word for you
Paper: Tangerine Tango, Old Olive, Whisper White, Daffodil Delight, Naturals White
Ink: Versa Mark®, Poppy Parade, Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Clear Embossing Powder, Extra Large Bird Punch, Oval Die, Dimensionals®

It's time for another challenge from Makeesha and this time it's a sketch! This was a bit of a challenge for me ... the oval, you know ... LOL! I love these three colours together and the effect just clear embossing and a light background stamping of Versa Mark without embossing. I made this one for a class I'd held this past week -- all focused on the new catalogue! So, in this card, you'll see a couple of new stamp sets (Punch Potpourri, a hostess set; A Word For You), one returning colour (Tangerine), and two new colours (Poppy Parade and Daffodil Delight)! Lotsa new stuff, eh?!

Anywho, I hope you like my sketch card this week! Please check out the rest of the Inkspirations team for their inspired creations (links are in my sidebar) and check out the challenge on Keesh's blog!

Have a great day!

"For You" House Box!

Stamps: Great Friend, Sanded
Paper: Naturals Ivory, Crumb Cake, Greenhouse Gala DSP, Whisper White, Pear Pizzazz, Early Espresso
Ink: Rich Razzleberry, Early Espresso
Accessories: Dimensionals®, Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder, Kraft Taffeta, Early Espresso 1/8" Grosgrain, Scallop Edge Punch

I've made a fun new box again! I've been selling more and more of my cards and I like to give them encased in a beautiful box. So, over the years, I'd always used the same template but now I felt like designing something new and fun. This one opens up to reveal two boxes on either side of the divider. It can fit 4 really embellished cards (like the kind of card I typically make!) on both sides as well as their envelopes. For more information on how to make this box, please visit my Stamping Classes blog!

Hope you like my box! Let me know what you think?

Have a great day!

Just For You

Here's yet another card for my sister-in-law! She'd asked me to make some cards for her to use while she and my brother-in-law travel from theatre to theatre with (acting and directing) a World War II play that shed written. I used another of the images that Lela had sent me, this time from the new set called "Artistic Etchings". A fitting image for this card, don't you think? The sketch is from 2 Sketches 4 You (from waaaaaaaaaay back that I'd missed posting for).

Anywho, hope you like the card? Thanks for visiting!

Colour Q Challenge #42

Stamps: Ornate Blossom, Inspired by Nature, Punch Potpourri, Occasional Quotes
Paper: Whisper White, Tangerine Tango, Chocolate Chip, Play Date DSP
Ink: Versa Mark®, Tangerine Tango, Real Red, Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Clear Embossing Powder, Dimensionals®, Chocolate Satin (retired), Brights Designer Buttons, Dotted Scallop Border Punch, Butterfly Punch

One of the things I couldn't wait to do when I got my new stamp sets was play with this Ornate Blossom single stamp! It has already gotten to be my favorite stamp and one that I'll use a LOT (just a warning!) but I'm trying to pace myself as I have oodles of new stuff that needs love :)

Anyway, the colours really reminded me of fall but with summer in full swing, I wasn't ready to go there. Fall comes too quickly as it is! The bottom layer has been stamped with versa mark and clear embossed with the ornate blossom image alternated. The rest is pretty simple eh?

Please check out the Colour Q challenge and see what the rest of the Royal Court made too!!

Thanks for stopping in! I hope you like my card?!

Artisan Award reject/non-winner/etc - Embrace Life

ahhh, the last Artisan card entry ... what can I say about this card that you can't figure out on your own, hmmm ... well, there isn't, really! Overall, less detailed than I'd normally be but I was trying to do a "Stampin' Up" version of a card (not typically my style) and I really liked how this one turned out!

Thanks for stopping by my blog today! Don't forget to check out what fabulousness Julie posted this week! I'll be back next week with one of two 3D projects!

See you tomorrow for the Colour Q challenge!

Scrappy Sunday!

There was another challenge last month on Soul Soul Scrappers challenging us to use buttons as embellishments as well as a part of the title. Since I was working on winter pics from 2008, this challenge worked out perfectly! I think my last snow scrap page was fairly similar, but this is 12 x 12 and will be going in my son Jacob's album!

Hope you like today's edition of Scrappy Sunday! Have a great rest of your weekend :)

Inkspirations Challenge #32

Stamps: Sweet Scoops
Paper: Regal Rose, Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla, Haiku DSP
Ink: Regal Rose, So Saffron, Chocolate Chip, Versa Mark®
Accessories: Chocolate Satin Ribbon (retired), Oval dies (Nestabilities), Top Note Die, Square Lattice Embossing Folder, Dimensionals®, Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder

I haven't played with my Sweet Scoops set in a while so I figured I'd better pull it out and use it! It's not a set that I gravitate easily to ... I dunno why, though. It's a really cute set! Perhaps thats my problem -- I rarely do "cute". Anyway, I'm blathering ...

This week's challenge is a colour challenge and a fun one! I love pink, yellow, and brown together! The ice cream cone was cut out and embossed with Iridescent Ice embossing powder and then the ice cream part is up on dimensionals above the cone. I attached the ribbon to the backside of the dry embossed panel using sticky strip.

Please check out the challenge on Keesh's blog and link up your creation so we can see what YOU do with these colours! The Inkspirations team members are sure to have projects that'll wow you too!

It is my honour and pleasure this week to announce the winner and the honourable mention for last week's sketch challenge! There were soooooooooooooooo many fabulous ones to choose from that I even got my hubby involved in choosing! So without further chit chat, here are this week's winner and honourable mention!!

Jodene created an adorable set of three cards with this wonderful colour combination. Totally caught my eye! The embossing detail is wonderful too :)

Steph created this beautiful card with that wonderful flower -- totally love the rolled flower!
