Inkspirations Inspiration #21

Stamps: Flower Fancy, Heard from the Heart, Vintage Vogue
Paper: Kraft, Chocolate Chip, Pink Pirouette, Watercolour Paper, Very Vanilla, Sending Love Specialty DSP
Ink: Regal Rose, Stazon™, various for colouring, Versa Marker
Accessories: Pink Satin, Pink Taffeta, Button, Linen Thread, Dimensionals®, Clear Embossing Powder, AquaPainter

Sorry I was MIA for the past few days ... we were actually away for a week visiting my parents for my Dad's 60th birthday! We'd planned a fun surprise party which was difficult considering everyone had to drive at least 5 hours to get to my parents' place :) But, we managed and he was surprised!

Isn't this a gorgeous inspiration photo for this challenge?! I love the calm and elegant look in this pic. I took the colours as my inspiration along with the floral theme. My mother-in-law's birthday is coming up too so this will be just perfect for her!

I used some DSP that will no longer available as of tomorrow ... the Sending Love DSP is really quite fun. You can't see it in the catty, but there is texture, glitter and more in this pack!! Of course, I ended up using the non-textured/glittery side ... go figure!

Anywho, this is one of the three cards I'm making with my class this evening as we focus on the "women in our lives" whether that means a mum, a friend, a relative, or whomever!

Please check out the challenge on Kirsty's blog this week and visit the rest of the team to see what they've come up with this week!

Hope you like this card :) Thanks for visiting!

Colour Q Challenge #30

Stamps: Inspired By Nature, Well Scripted, Sanded
Paper: Whisper White, Bravo Burgundy, Always Artichoke
Ink: Versa Mark®, Always Artichoke, Sage Shadow
Accessories: Watercolour Crayons, Clear Embossing Powder, Eyelet Border Punch, Dimensionals®, Burgundy Organdy

Another fun colour challenge this week :) These are colours I rarely use together although I do like them. That's the fun part about challenges -- they totally get you thinking outside of your box. I started out with creating the background piece and then built the rest of the card around that. A little emboss resist and watercolour crayons and I was set!

Hope you like the card! Please check out the challenge on the Colour Q blog and check out what the rest of the Royal Court made!

Just for You

Stamps: Eastern Blooms, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Paper: Whisper White, Taken with Teal, Sweet Pea DSP, Melon Mambo
Ink: Sahara Sand, Melon Mambo, Bermuda Bay, Stazon™
Accessories: Sweet Pea Felt, Silver Brads, Dimensionals®, Scallop Edge Punch, Corner Rounder, Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder, Regal Rose Stitched Grosgrain

I'm finished the Artisan Award stuff and mailed it a while ago (talk about nerve wracking ...) and this was one of the "rejects" even though I still LOVE it but I loved the others ones more! I haven't played with the Eastern Blooms stamp set in quite a while so it was time to pull it out. I hope you like this one!

Thanks for visiting!

Color Cue Challenge

Stamps: Trendy Trees
Paper: Bordering Blue, Basic Black, Whisper White, Bella Blooms DSP (retired)
Ink: Stazon™, Bordering Blue, Cameo Coral, Summer Sun
Accessories: Textured Embossing Folder, Silver Organdy, Dimensionals®

The Color Cue challenge was just that ... a challenge! These are three colours I'd never normally reach for together but I love the calm look the blue/grey gives to the other two bright tones. I also used an item from the upcoming Summer mini catalogue -- the new embossing folder! Isn't it a great texture?

Anywho, what do you think?

for you

Stamps: Branch Out (retired), Great Friend
Paper: Kraft, Basic Black, Whisper White, retired DSP
Ink: Bashful Blue, Going Grey, Old Olive, Apricot Appeal, Chocolate Chip, Stazon™
Accessories: Vintage Brads, Chocolate Grosrain, Mat Pack & Piercer

I broke out the brayer again ... did I say already that I love this technique? I love it, but can only handle doing so much, you know?! I hope you like it. I followed Michelle's tutorial for the card she'd posted. I changed the scene a bit (less trees and smaller) but otherwise it's a similar scene with the same colours. If you want to learn how to do this technique -- she's the master!

Thanks for stopping in!

Inkspirations Colour Challenge #21

Stamps: Sweet Scoops
Paper: Whisper White, Old Olive, Summer Picnic DSP (retired), Haiku DSP (retired)
Ink: Stazon™, Real Red, Creamy Caramel, VersaMark®
Accessories: Mat Pack & Piercer, Corner Rounder, Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder, Canvas Cuts, Mini Library Clip, Old Olive Twill Ribbon, Scallop Trim Punch, Dimensionals®, Large Tag Punch

I had fun with this week's colour challenge! I think I say that every time (I should go and check, eh?!) ... but truly, Keesh's challenges are fab :) This week, the colours are fun and bright so I pulled out a new set coming to the Summer mini catalogue called "Sweet Scoops". I stamped, cut and embossed the pieces and then put them on a piece of canvas. I had recently gotten the now-retired Canvas Cuts through the Clearance Rack on my demonstrator store and played with them finally! They're fun and easy. I actually punched the shape myself out of an existing shape which just wasn't working for me ...

Anywho, hope you like my challenge card! Please play along with us!!

love you

Stamps: Awash with Flowers, Short & Sweet
Paper: Pink Pirouette, Melon Mambo, Razzlberry Lemonade DSP, Old olive, Watercolour Paper
Ink: Stazon™, various for colouring
Accessories: Pink Satin Ribbon, Dimensionals®, Pinking Hearts Border Punch, AquaPainter™, Mat Pack & Piercer

I just got this set the other day and so of course I had to ink it up! It's called "Awash with Flowers" and is a little sneak peek set from the new catalogue coming out in July! So, the sketch comes from 2 Sketches 4 You and you know how much I enjoy their sketches! I try really hard not to miss them if I can help it.

I hope you like the card! Thanks for visiting!!!

Just Add Ink Colour Challenge

Stamps: Trendy Trees, Well Scripted
Paper: Chocolate Chip, DSP (retired), Barely Banana, Whisper White
Ink: Barely Banana, Chocolate Chip (Classic & Craft), VersaMark®, Kiwi Kiss
Accessories: Clear Embossing Powder, Eyelet Border Punch, Old Olive Satin Ribbon, Dimensionals®

This week at Just Add Ink is a colour challenge! I still have my Kiwi Kiss ink! I played with some more brayered scenes again ... I love them and this is perfect for a guy, don't you think? At least, I hope so! It's simple and relatively quick to make.

Thanks for looking! Hope you like it?!

Colour Q Challenge #29

Stamps: En Francais, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Paper: Bravo Burgundy, Kiwi Kiss, So Saffron Prints DSP, Tangerine Tango, Whisper White
Ink: Bravo Burgundy
Accessories: Eyelet Border Punch, Ovals Bigz Die, Dimensionals®, Petals-a-Plenty Embossing Folder, Birds Punch, Silver Brads, Burgundy Grosgrain

Another fun colour combination! Unfortunately, I have no green galore or yo yo yellow -- I really really dislike those colours anyway ... *shudder*, hee hee! So I switched out the two colours for relatively comparable ones!

I'd seen this tulip being done all over the place and found out that the idea originated with a fellow SU demonstrator (Julia Bettencourt). Fabulous idea and I just had to do it too! I have a class coming up at the end of the month so this is one of the three projects for that!

Hope you like the card! Please check out the challenge over on the Colour Q blog and while you're at it, check out what the rest of the DT made!

Have a fab day :)

Curtain Call Challenge

Stamps: Extreme Skateboard, Extreme Elements, Certified
Paper: Naturals White, Basic Grey, Urban Oasis DSP, Welcome Neighbour DSP, Whisper White
Ink: Going Grey, Basic Grey, Crushed Curry, Versa Mark®, Basic Black Craft
Accessories: Basic Black Grosgrain, Dimensionals®, Clear Embossing Powder, Silver Brads, Mat Pack & Piercer

The recent Curtain Call colour challenge intrigued me and I thought it'd be perfect for these extreme sets. I sooooooo love these sets for guys. At least, for my younger guys! Caleb is 9 already, soon to be 10 in August and I am noticing huge changes in his maturity and interests ... I now have to change along with him to help understand him and help him understand himself! Yes, call me crazy ... :)

Anyways, I'm blathering probably because I'm way too tired ... too many really late nights for this night owl!

So, as I was saying -- fun colours! Hope you like the card!

Mercy's Sketch!

Stamps: Baroque Motifs, Absolutely Fabulous
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Bella Bloom DSP (retired), Very Vanilla, Regal Rose
Ink: Regal Rose, Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Pink Satin, Scallop Trim Border Punch, Dimensionals®, Ovals Bigz Die, Half-Back Pearls, Flower Fusion Sizzlit

This is one of those cards that makes me go "hmmmm" ... it's what my grandmother (Oma) always says when she's either not sure or doesn't know how to kindly say "ugh"! I played with Mercy's sketch and this DSP and I'm not sure I love the result ... What do you think?

2 Sketches 4 You

Stamps: Embrace Life, En Francais
Paper: Pink Pirouette, Basic Black, Going Grey, Watercolour Paper, Old Olive
Ink: Stazon™, Going Grey, various for colouring
Accessories: Decorative Accent #2 Bigz die, Dimensionals®, Clear Rhinestone Brads, Little Leaves Sizzlit, Pink Satin, AquaPainter™

I started with both a sketch from 2 Sketches 4 You and an inspiration photo from Tuesday Trigger. The sketch this week was rather interesting and I didn't quite know what to do with it ... and this is what you get! I actually am really happy with how it turned out. Normally, I always put a sentiment on a card, but I really didn't think this one needed it. What do you think?

Inkspirations Sketch #21

Stamps: A to Z, Upsy Daisy
Paper: Pale Plum, Basic Black, Whisper White, Haiku DSP (retired), Old Olive
Ink: Stazon™, Elegant Eggplant, VersaMark®
Accessories: Fleurettes, Summer Sun Corduroy Button, Linen Thread, Scallop Trim Punch, Old Olive Satin Ribbon, Clear Rhinestone Brads, Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder, Billboard Sizzlit Strips Die

Here's another fun sketch, eh? I had fun with it anyway! I had been wanting to try a little emboss resist this week with the Upsy Daisy stamp set, a set I rarely use for some reason or other.

I started out by stamping the A to Z stamp all over the background piece. This stamp is only available until the end of the month as it is in the Occasions Mini! I LOVE this little stamp and will probably keep it for a loooooooooong time as it really is nice for backgrounds. Anyways, then I stamped the floral image with versa mark and heat embossed using Iridescent Ice EP. A simple sponging of Elegant Eggplant nicely finished off that piece :)

I was trying to figure out what colour to match with the purple that wasn't green ... I still ended up using green but I added a bigger touch of yellow with it this time. I had recently gotten some retired DSP through the Clearance Rack on my demonstrator website (click on the link and then "Shop Now" to see!) and just had to break the package open. i don't know why I never got it when it was current ... go figure, eh?

Anyways, please check out the other gals's sketchy creations this week! Thanks for stoppin' in!

SCS Sketch Challenge

Stamps: First Day, Starring You
Paper: Taken with Teal, Basic Black, Whisper White, Welcome Neighbour DSP
Ink: Stazon™, Whisper White, various for colouring
Accessories: Spiral Punch, Black Gorsgrain, Circle Punches, AquaPainter™

I had just gotten my preorder the other day and just had to ink this set up! I LOVE this new set. It'll be in the upcoming Summer Mini catalogue that begins next month. It's a super cute set that I think will have a ton of use, mostly in scrapbooks but I think it makes a cute card too, don't you think?!

The sketch was one from SplitCoast!

Thanks for stoppin' in, hope you like the card!
