Colour Q Challenge #26!

Stamps: A Kind Word, Dot to Dot
Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black, Lovely Lilac, Lavender Lace, Certainly Celery, Bermuda Bay, Watercolour Paper
Ink: Stazon™, various for colouring, Lavender Lace
Accessories: Birds Punch, Trio Flower Punch, Dimensionals®, AquaPainter™, Soft Subtles Brads, Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder

Well, guess what?! Arielle emailed a week or two ago and asked if I'd like to join her new DT for Colour Q! Of course I said yes as I really really love her challenges! This new DT is filled with talent so I'm excited to see what the others do each week. There are links to their blogs/projects in my sidebar, check 'em out too! While you're at it, feel free to participate in the colour challenge for this week on the Colour Q blog :)

This is an interesting colour combination and quite a challenge for me as I never really know what to pair with purple. Here of course, the colour combo is given! Again, I used the newest-to-me stamp set called "A Kind Word". She's been watercoloured and I trimmed the image panel using a sharp cutting knife so that I could cut around pieces of her.

Anyways, hope you like my card and thank for stopping in my blog!

Happiness Always

Stamps: Greenhouse Garden, Whimsical Words
Paper: Confetti White, Old Olive, Welcome Neighbour DSP, Certainly Celery
Ink: Chocoalte Chip, So Saffron
Accessories: 1-3/4" Circle Punch, Perfect Layers Embossing Folder, Beautiful Wings Embosslit, Neutrals Brads, Little Leaves Sizzlit, Dimensionals®, White Satin, Eyelet Border Punch

I can't remember what reason I made this one but I'm pretty sure it wasn't another challenge card! I love the softness of green and yellow together, don't you?

have a happy day!

Stamps: A Kind Word, Picnic Parade
Paper: Kraft, Very Vanilla, Sage Shadow, Sweet Pea DSP, Watercolour Paper
Ink: Stazon™, various for colouring, Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Fleuretes, Pink Corduroy Buttons, Scallop Trim Punch, Dimensionals®, Corner Rounder, Chocolate Satin, AquaPainter™

I told you I'd be playing with this set again, didn't I?! Here's the other main image from this set. She totally reminds me of Holly Hobbie ... I started out with the colours from the most recent challenge from Embellish (kraft, sage, and light pink) and the main image.

I knew I wanted more of a pink look, so the image more focused on the sage. I stamped the image on watercolour paper as well as two different pieces of patterned paper so I could do a little watercolouring and a little paper piecing. I love how it turned out even though some of the cut-work was a tad tedious (I'm an odd one that generally likes meticulous/tedious stuff though!). She's got red hair too! That's not a colour I use often for hair colour as it seems to be difficult to get "just right". But, I like it here.

The second fun detail I want to point out is the fleurette! I just got these for the first time (even though I can crochet, I probably won't so I caved and bought them!). I didn't want a white one for this project so like anything, I customised it! I simply squirted the flower with water until it was nice and damp and then dropped a little bit of Creamy Caramel reinker over it and quickly worked it through. Then I dried it using a heat tool 'cause I'm impatient and it works. Anyway, all that to say: I really like these crocheted flowers!

Soooooo, hope you like this card as much as I do! Thanks for visiting my blog :)

in my thoughts ...

Stamps: Well Scripted
Paper: Kraft, Welcome Neighbour DSP, Regal Rose, Chocolate Chip
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Pink Satin, Kraft Corduroy Button, Scallop Edge Punch, Beautiful Wings Embosslit

Here's a really simple card that reflects the kind of mood I'm in! I was just thinking of random things that made me reflect a bit on the people in my life and how much I appreciate them. So, I thought it would be nice to make cards for each of them and share that with them!

I started out with a sketch from 2 Sketches 4 You and went from there. I'm going to miss the paper pack from SAB (ends this month) so I've sort of stocked up on it! Don't miss out on any SAB goodies while they last, eh?!

Thanks for stopping in my blog today! Hope you like what you see?!

Inkspirations Sketch #20

Stamps: A Kind Word
Paper: Kraft, Close to Cocoa, Blush Blossom, Very Vanilla, Watercolour Paper
Ink: Stazon™, Close to Cocoa, Cameo Coral, Blush Blossom
Accessories: Birds Punch, Half Back Pearls (Pretties Kit), Chocolate Satin, Horizontal Slot Punch, Dimensionals®, Trio Flower punch, AquaPainter

This is a pretty simple little card ... I was in a bit of a rush last night because I'd not gotten my card done yet for the challenge today and it was creeping closer and closer to midnight and beyond ... too busy this week! But, it's done and it's here -- just in the nick of time ... an hour to spare ;) ! Hope you like my card for this week's sketch challenge?! I had just gotten this set earlier this week and it was the first inking of it so be prepared to see it a few more times over the next while (I have a self-induced policy of using new items 3 or 4 times before putting them away). The image was watercoloured on watercolour paper and then cut out and glued on top of a stamped one on the vanilla card stock.

Anyway, please check out what the rest of the Inkspirations team has done with this week's sketch and then make your own!

Thanks for stopping in my blog today! (hopefully I'll have more time to create this weekend!)

and ... I totally forgot to add ... this is for the colour challenge at Just Add Ink! I'd just made a card recently using these colours so it was fun to pull them out again!

Thinking of You

Stamps: Trendy Trees
Paper: Kraft, Welcome Neighbour DSP. Confetti White
Ink: Old Olive, Crushed Curry, Stazon™, Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Chocolate Chip Grosgrain, Dimensionals®, Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder, some retired ribbon I can't remember the name of ...

I was playing around with a layout I'd seen somewhere and came up with this one. It's fairly different from what I normally do, or at least I think so! It's simple and sweet, don't you think?!

Thanks for stopping in today!

gratitude

Stamps: Flower Fancy, Define Your Life
Paper: Barely Banana, Kraft, Whisper White, Old Olive, Razzleberry Lemonade DSP
Ink: Pale Plum, Perfect Plum, Old Olive, Garden Green, Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Kraft Taffeta, Vintage Brads, XL Birds Punch, Dimesionals®, Scallop Edge Punch

I'm so not in love with this card ... I dunno why, though. I had originally started with the latest inspiration challenge from Keesh. I had punched out the bird and then with the punched out piece, I sponged a little Going Grey ink to add a little shadow behind the bird. Anywho, please let me know if you like it better than I do, LOL!

you quack me up :)

Stamps: Animal Crackers, Eastern Blooms
Paper: Bashful Blue, Welcome Neighbour DSP, Whisper White, Kraft, Watercolour Paper
Ink: Stazon™, So Saffron, Pumpkin Pie, Chocolate Chip Craft, Real Red Craft, Bashful Blue Craft, Old Olive
Accessories: Clear Embossing Powder, Scallop Circle Punch, 1-3/8" Circle Punch, Saffron Grosgrain (retired), Dimensionals®, AquaPainter™, Mat Pack & Piercer

This one fits several different challenge: Mercy's sketch, the Tuesday Trigger inspiration, and Paige's "any bird but an owl" challenge! I tried to recreate the cushion that was in the inspiration piece by stamping the images in craft ink, embossing them with clear powder, and then I brayered Old Olive ink over the whole piece. Looks cool, eh?

Thanks for visiting! Let me know what you think of today's project?!

I'm there for you

Stamps: Friends 24/7, Flower Fancy, Absolutely Fabulous
Paper: Whisper White, Taken with Teal, Basic Black, Watercolour Paper
Ink: Soft Sky, Tangerine Tango, Stazon™
Accessories: Scallop Edge Punch, Vintage Brads, Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder, AquaPainter™, Basic Black Grosgrain, MicroBeads, Crystal Effects, Dimensionals®

This is a card that turned out exactly as I'd envisioned it. Most do, but this one more so than others! I love the punch of colour that the flower gives beside those two teals. Believe it or not, I still actually have those retired colours in my stash! I don't think I'll ever give up Soft Sky (even if I rarely use it!). The colours came from this week's Color Throwdown challenge. Anyways, I did my fav stamping of late - to stamp that flourish as my patterned paper! Love the soft look it can give.

Hope you like it! Thanks for stopping in today!

eta: totally forgot to add where the sketch is from! It's from the girls over at Just Add Ink!

Inkspirations Inspiration Challenge #19

Stamps: Picnic Parade, Friends 24/7
Paper: Kraft, Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White, Cottage Wall DSP, Watercolour Paper
Ink: Pale Plum, Stazon™, various for colouring
Accessories: 1-3/4" Circle Punch, Swirls Sizzlit, Old Olive Grosgrain, AquaPainter™, Dimesionals®, Scallop Trim Punch

Time for the newest inspiration challenge from Keesh! This beautiful watering can of flowers had me stumped, actually. I had made one card and didn't really like it (come back in a few days to see it!) and so I played around a little more and came up with this one! What do you think?

Check out the challenge and the team's projects!!

embrace life.

Stamps: Embrace Life, Sanded, Pocket Silhouettes
Paper: Kraft, Blush Blossom, Close to Cocoa, Watercolour Paper
Ink: Stazon™, Close to Cocoa, Chocolate Chip, Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose
Accessories: Chocolate Chip Satin Ribbon, Dimensionals®, AquaPainter™

These colours are always good together, eh? or at least, I LOVE them! I played with Kazan's sketch this week. There's supposed to be two panels on the sides of the main image which I chose to interpret with piercing.

Hope you like my card!

I just finished my second 3D project for the artisan award and I sooooooooooo wish I could share it now 'cause it turned out fabulously, hee hee!

Thanks for visiting!!

Greenhouse Garden - Wishes

Stamps: Greenhouse Garden, Pocket Silhouettes, Heard from the Heart
Paper: Bashful Blue, Basic Black, Whisper White, Sweet Pea DSP
Ink: Old Olive, Apricot Appeal, Cameo Coral, Stazon™
Accessories: Vintage Brads, Dimensionals®, Basic Black Grosgrain, Scallop Edge Punch

Hey look, no challenge or anything for this one! I doodled the border around the main image panel after I'd stamped it.

Hope you like it!

I got this cute card in the mail from Dawn! She sent a few of these Pure Innocence stamped images after I was talking about how cute they are! I try not to buy things I won't use much and so even though these images are the cutest things I've seen in a loooong time, I probably wouldn't use them enough to warrant buying them ... :( and Dawn felt sorry for me so she sent me some stamped images! Isn't that sweet?

love you

Stamps: Bloomin' Beautiful, Well Scripted, I {heart} Hearts
Paper: Very Vanilla, Cameo Coral, So Saffron, Watercolour Paper
Ink: Stazon™, Chocolate Chip Craft, Versa Mark, various for colouring
Accessories: Scallop Trim Punch, Chocolate Satin, Dimensionals®, AquaPainter™, Clear Embossing Powder

I had been thinking of saving this one for the Artisan Award until I realised that that ribbon is looooooooong retired! Oops ... good thing I caught it, eh? I LOVE how this card turned out. I think I was originally inspired by a colour challenge from Keesh a while ago but chose to save it rather than post it. So, here it is for you to see now! LOL!

Hope you like it!

oh, and did'ja see my new blog banner?! I made it using MDS (My Digital Studio) and some of the newest available downloads (the Sweet Pea paper and the Just Perfect alphabet)!

Stamp Club card!

Stamps: Extreme Skateboard, Extreme Elements, Crazy Cool
Paper: Kraft, Chocolate Chip, Not Quite Navy, Dusty Durango, Whisper White, Sweet Pea DSP
Ink: Versa Mark, Chocolate Chip, Not Quite Navy, Old Olive, Dusty Durango
Accessories: Silver Brads, Linen Thread, Spiral Punch, Dimensionals®

At my stamp club last Friday, we’d made this card! I love pairing the Extreme dudes with the Elements sets. They provide a neat background. The technique on this one is called “Stamp Dragging”. Not a terribly inventive name as you do exactly what the technique is called: stamp, hold, and drag! BUT, regardless of the name, the technique is cool! I had also used the sketch from Mojo Monday (last week’s?).

Hope you like it! Thanks for visiting!!

you rock!

Stamps: Extreme Skateboard, Extreme Elements, Crazy Cool
Paper: Whisper White, Barely Banana, Basic Black
Ink: Versa Mark, Stazon™, Barely Banana, So Saffron, Crushed Curry
Accessories: Silver Brads, Sm. Star Punch, Dimensionals®, Basic Black Grosgrain, Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder, Scallop Edge Punch, White Gel Pen

Here’s a fun card I’d made, again with the skateboard guy!I’m totally into using the Extreme line at the moment. I don’t know why ... I did just order the guitar one thanks to SAB (which ends the end of this month!)! Anyways, I’d seen a neat idea where the artist had used the white gel pen to fill in the image after stamping it in versa mark and outlining it with a black marker. I could have probably stamped in white and outlined it to get the same effect, but I thought I’d try this technique out. Love the simple colour combination too. White and yellow are striking, eh?

The sketch is from Mercy's blog!

Anywho, hope you’re having a great day! Thanks for poppin’ in :)
