Follow Your Heart

Stamps: Upsy Daisy, Dot to Dot, Whimsical Words, Sanded
Paper: Rich Razzleberry, Kraft, Whisper White
Ink: Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White, Chocolate Chip (Craft)
Accessories: Chocolate Satin, Kraft Corduroy Button, On Board Chipboard, Sticky Pages, Bigz Simple Numbers die, Fine Cosmo Glitter, Pinking Hearts Border Punch

Sick of the Chocolate Satin and Pinking Hearts border punch yet? I think I've used both of those on almost all my previous projects! Hee hee! I love them, so how can I help but use them? This card started out with the sketch from Mojo Monday. I chose to do the square sketch (there's an option of square or circular) and of course, I changed it ... to a rectangle! The purple/kraft combo is a new fav of mine too. I thought I'd also pull out my glitter for this as well. It adds a really fun touch. What I'd done is put a piece of the sticky page on some chipboard and then die cut it. Once that was done, I removed the liner to add the glitter. Pretty simple!

I hope you like my card! Thanks for visiting!!!

Happiness Always

Stamps: I {Heart} Hearts, Whimsical Words
Paper: Blush Blossom, Real Red, Soft Suede, Whisper White, Sending Love Specialty DSP
Ink: Chocolate Chip (Craft & Classic), Pretty in Pink, Real Red
Accessories: Heart to Heart punch, Pinking Hearts Border Punch, Dimensionals®, Clear Embossing Powder, Chocolate Satin

I used the sketch from 2 Sketches 4 You as the beginnings of inspiration for this card. I always find that when I get new stuff from SU, I'm almost overwhelmed and can't really make a card to save my life ... BUT, I really really like how this card turned out! The Sending Love DSP is fabulous -- you've gotta check that out! It's got some glittery sides, some embossed stuff ... just lots of fun details!

Inkspirations Inspiration Challenge #17

Stamps: Friends 24-7, Oval All, Sanded
Paper: Very Vanilla, Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa, Watercolour Paper
Ink: Close to Cocoa, Creamy Caramel, Chocolate Chip (Craft & Classic)
Accessories: Pinking Heart Border Punch, Eyelet Border Punch, Scallop Oval Punch, 2-step Bird Punch, Chocolate Satin, Dimensionals®, Manhattan Flower Embossing Folder

Ahhh, another Inkspirations Inspiration Challenge! I loved the natural tones in this pic and that inspired my colour choices for this one. I kept with the browns and cream! I used a few new tools that just arrived this week too!! I LOVE the new pinking hearts border punch. I did get the corner one too but haven't tried it yet ... soon! The 2-step bird punch is pretty cool too. Anyways, the card ... so, I randomly stamped the flourish/fleur-di-lis image on the vanilla card stock using Creamy Caramel ink and then covered it with the Sanded background (Close to Cocoa). I sewed a line along the edges too, not sure if you can see that!

Please check out the challenge on Keesh's blog and see what the rest of the DT came up with!

Thanks for visiting today! I hope you all have a great day!

"Kewl" Colour Combo!

Stamps: Full of Life, Flight of the Butterfly
Paper: Whisper White, Real Red, Welcome Neighbour DSP
Ink: Soft Suede, Real Red, Pretty in Pink
Accessories: Dimensionals®, Soft Suede Dotted Grosgrain, Jumbo Eyelet, Rhinestone Brad, Butterfly Punch

Julie has a cool colour challenge that happens bi-monthly and I finally made time to play this week! She'd chosen a few previous In Colours that look gorgeous together but alas, I no longer have those colours ... She said it was fine to use something similar though! This card is very simple. It's quick and it's super easy to reproduce!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!!

Stamp Club: Scrap Page!

Talk about intimidating! Wow ... many of the ladies of my club have been scrappers for a loooooooooong time and some have never scrapped before. So, I've got a wonderful mix of people with an interesting challenge! Anyways, like I'd said yesterday, I rarely scrap anymore so getting back into a scrappin' groove is really hard ... But, I do like how this page turned out. The original page is 8x8 (fits perfectly in the On Board 8x8 albums) and here's a shot of what it could look like as a 12x12:

Hope you like my pages! Now to add pics ...

Have a great day!

Sketch Book

Stamps: Friends 24-7
Paper: Very Vanilla, Regal Rose, Rose Red, Bravo Burgundy, Chocolate Chip, Sweet Pea DSP, Blush Blossom
Ink: Regal Rose Classic, Chocolate Chip Craft
Accessories: Scallop Trim Border punch, Beautiful Wings Embosslit, Crop-a-Dile, Eyelets, Bravo Burgundy Grosgrain, Clear Rhinestone Brads, Clear Envelopes, Naturally Serif Decorative Strip Die

Here's the first stamp club project done at my newest club! With this new club, I'm going to be incorporating scrapbooking into each club. I've neglected my own scrapbooks for far too long and it's time to get back at it! So, with each club meeting, we will be making a tiny replica of the sketch to place in our sketch books. That way, by the time we're done, we will all have our own sketch books to look at and use time and again without having to look at our already created pages. Kind of like a blank slate each time!

To make this book, I basically took several clear envelopes and bound them with the eyelets in a card stock book frame. Easy and simple! The envelopes are accessible to add the scrap layouts each month.

Hope you like it! I know my club members did!!!

Inspired Tuesday Challenge (and a bow tutorial too!)

Stamps: For Everything
Paper: Kraft, Soft Suede, Bashful Blue, Whisper White
Ink: Whisper White, Stazon™, Taken with Teal, Versa Marker
Accessories: Latte Designer Buttons, Linen Thread, Dimensionals®, White Satin, Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder, Clear Embossing Powder, Scallop Edge Punch

Ilina Crouse is a wonderfully talented demonstrator and a blogger whom I've admired for quite a loooooooong time. She's started up a challenge she's calling "Inspired Tuesdays"! Now, you should know by now that I rarely pass up a challenge when I've got the time and I happened to have had it this week! Soooooooooo, since I had a new stamp set I've been itching to use, I set out to play with Ilina's inspiration and Mercy's sketch! Makeesha had sent a wonderful gift over Christmas, a beautiful card along with this oh-so-cute stamp set called "For Everything" available in the Australian/New Zealand Summer Mini Catalogue! Here's an image of the stamp set and a pic of the beautiful Christmas card I received from Keesh:

Thanks Keesh!

First of all, I'd received a question from Dotty a little while ago regarding a bow I'd tied on a card. I thought I'd take some pics while making this card so you can easily see how I made it! It's all on this graphic on the right (click to enlarge). It's basically a single-loop bow. So instead of making two loops, you would only make one! If anything is confusing or doesn't make sense, please let me know. I tend to talk in sound effects to my class and club attendees and those don't translate well into English ... LOL!

So, onto the card deets! I started out with stamping a strip of Bashful Blue card stock with Whisper White craft ink and heated it to dry (I'm impatient). Then, I stamped the sentiment on the top randomly and used a versa marker to fill in the letters. The bottom of the card was embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder.

Thanks for visiting my blog! I hope you like the card and tutorial!!

Happy Birthday!

Stamps: Fox & Friends, Frames with a Flourish, Well-Scripted
Paper: Whisper White, Dusty Durango, Chocolate Chip, Sweet Pea DSP, Watercolour Paper
Ink: Chocolate Chip (Craft & Classic), More Mustard, Dusty Durango, Creamy Caramel
Accessories: Designer Buttons, Linen Thread, Clear Embossing Powder, AquaPainter™, Dimensionals®, Chocolate Taffeta, Sewing Machine

I had fun with this card! I'd love the delightful colour combination from this particular piece of paper in the Sweet Pea DSP. Using Taylor's sketch, I played around with it. Instead of adding another layer for the band across the upper part, I just cut the paper and used the reverse side to show. Then, I sewed a zig-zag stitch across! It's actually been kind of fun having my sewing machine sitting on my desk. I'll actually use it more than once a year or I should say that only my mum ever used it once a year, hee hee!! Anyways, I stamped the lion image from Fox & Friends several times in different colours on the watercolour paper and then just took an AquaPainter to it to smooth it out and add a little detail. Then, I embossed it with Clear embossing powder, cut them out and laid them together.

Hope you like my card! Thanks for visiting!!!!

Inkspirations Colour Challenge!

Stamps: I {Heart} Hearts, Well Scripted
Paper: So Saffron, Cameo Coral, Very Vanilla, Chocolate Chip
Ink: Chocolate Chip Craft, So Saffron
Accessories: Latte Designer Buttons, Clear Embossing Powder, Scallop Trim Border Punch, Dimensionals®, Linen Thread, Sewing Machine, Chocolate Chip Grosgrain

Yaay! The Inkspirations Challenges are back on again after a Christmas break and I've been itching to get back to it. So, here's another delightful colour challenge from Keesh! I paired the colours with the sketch from 2 Sketches 4 You. I've said it before, but I still find Cameo Coral a weird colour to play with. It's so, umm, Pepto Bismal-ish ... Anyways, it was a struggle to find a way to balance these colours, at least for me! Be sure to check out the challenge over at Keesh's blog and see what the rest of the Inkspirations team has made!!!

Thanks for stopping by!

The stamp set I used today is part of a special fund raiser from Stampin' Up!. From now until February 28th, $2 from every "I {Heart} Hearts" stamp set (shown on the left) purchased will be donated to the American Red Cross' Haiti Relief and Development Fund. The Red Cross is already well-established in Haiti, and this money will be used to provide immediate relief and long-term support through supplies, technical assistance and other support to help those in need.

Should you wish to be a part of this effort, please visit my demonstrator website or contact a demonstrator near you.

Stamps: Upsy Daisy, Pocket Silhouettes, Sweet Little Sentiments (retired)
Paper: Kraft, Whisper White, Pale Plum, Chocolate Chip, Cottage Wall DSP, Watercolour Paper
Ink: Elegant Eggplant Craft, Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Swirls die, Scallop Trim Punch, Clear Embossing Powder, Vintage Brads, Chocolate Satin, Modern Label Punch, Microbeads, Sticky Sheet

Another day, another challenge, and again with the purple! It took me forever to make this card because I was having issues with the purple and brown together along with stripes ... Embellish has this challenge to make a card using all of those things on one card and I found it difficult?! Soooooo, I didn't use one purple, I used a mix of purples. The flowers from Upsy Daisy are stamped with the Eggplant and embossed with clear embossing powder.

Anywho, thanks for stopping in today! See you back again tomorrow?!

Colour Q Guest Designer!

Stamps: Animal Crackers, Dot to Dot
Paper: Pretty in Pink, Whisper White, Melon Mambo, Sweet Pea DSP, Chocolate Chip, Watercolour Paper
Ink: Stazon™, Versa Mark, various for colouring, Melon Mambo
Accessories: Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder, Scallop Trim Border Punch, Pumpkin Pie Grosgrain, Fire Rhinestone Brads, Dimensionals®, Clear Embossing Powder, Aquapainter™

I get to be today's guest challenge team member for Arielle's Colour Q Challenge! This week, she's chosen a beautiful piece of jewellery as inspiration for these colours. I love the jewel tones!

I hadn't used the Animal Crackers stamp set yet, so it'd been sitting on my desk until I used it (bought it back in Nov/Dec with those bundle specials, YKWIM?) ... these colours seemed perfect for this little giraffe! I thought I'd give this to one of my children - Hannah. She's not a great student but she sure tries hard. Also a sensitive child, I think this will show our appreciation and acknowledgement of her efforts and that we think she's perfect the way God made her.

Please check out the challenge on Arielle's challenge blog and see what she's made as well as link up your own creation!!!

Thanks for visiting :) Have a fab day!!!

Just for You

Stamps: Embrace Life, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Paper: Kraft, Sweet Pea DSP, Chocolate Chip, Watercolour Paper, Old Olive, Melon Mambo
Ink: Chocolate Chip Craft & Classic, Stazon™, various for colouring
Accessories: Small Oval Punch, Vintage Brads, Eyelet Border Punch, Chocolate Taffeta, Little Leaves die, 1-3/8" Circle Punch, Scallop Circle Punch, Dimensionals®, Aquapainter™

Since I still had these stamp sets and tools sitting on my desk, I put them to good use yet again :) Gotta say, though, all my tools get extremely good use here!! LOL! The sketch from Mojo Monday was my inspiration although I did flip it. I really had felt like using more purple, but I had to get away from that for a day or two or I'd be purpled out for the next century ... ha ha! Kidding, of course :) The pinks are lovely together too with a little bit of pumpkin pie thrown in, eh?

Thanks for stopping by!

SCS's Featured Stamper Challenge

Stamps: Friends 24-7, Curvy Verses
Paper: Bordering Blue, Perfect Plum, Watercolour Paper, Pale Plum, Mellow Moss
Ink: Chocolate Chip Craft, various for colouring
Accessories: Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder, Clear Embossing Powder, Scallop Trim Border, Old Olive Grosgrain, Whisper White Tafetta, Little Leaves Sizzlit, Dimensionals®, AquaPainter™

I love the featured stamper challenge on SplitCoast Stampers because it gives me a chance to see a whole new gallery that I may or may not have seen before! There are soooooooooo many talented artists out there and this challenge is a perfect opportunity to find them. So, for the challenge, I basically kept the layout but changed everything else. I was really inspired by a card of Marikha's that I'd seen a while ago. The colours were absolutely beautiful and fresh! The bird and sentiment are both stamped using the Chocolate Chip craft ink and then embossed with clear embossing powder. I coloured the image using an AquaPainter and a variety of ink colours.

Hope you like my card! Thanks for visiting today!!!

Purple ...

Stamps: Fresh Cuts, Embrace Life, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Paper: Kraft, Rich Razzleberry, Pale Plum, Watercolour Paper, Rich Razzleberry Patterns DSP
Ink: Elegant Eggplant Craft & Classic, Stazon™, Versa Mark
Accessories: Curly Label Punch, Sewing Machine, Clear Embossing Powder, Dimensionals®, Ovals #2 Die, Rich Razzleberry Dotted Grosgrain, Eyelet Border Punch, Filigree Brads, Little Leaves die

Purple is definitely an "in" colour right now! It also happens to be a difficult colour to work with, at least for me. But, I found a new challenge blog with a delightfully purple colour challenge thanks to a commenter here on my blog (thanks Sandra!) called Stamping Royalty! This is their second colour challenge and I must say, I LOVE how this card ended up. As my neutral, I used Kraft, but everything else is purple, purple, purple!

I used a set I haven't used in a little while --: Fresh Cuts and embossed it in Elegant Eggplant on the Rich Razzleberry card stock. I had a little bit of fun with my sewing machine again too! and, did you notice the brad in the center of the embossed flower? That was originally silver but I coated it with the Elegant Eggplant craft ink and embossed it with clear embossing powder! Cool, eh?

I hope you like it! Thanks for visiting :)

Wonderful

Stamps: Flight of the Butterfly, Inspired by Nature, Warm Words
Paper: Barely Banana, Crushed Curry, Old Olive, Sweet Pea DSP, Vellum Card Stock
Ink: Old Olive, Crushed Curry, Basic Black Craft ink
Accessories: Beautiful Wings Embosslit, Crushed Curry Dotted Grosgrain, Scallop Border Punch, Trio Flower Punch, Soft Subtles Brads

I had my final In Colour Club class this week and this was one of the two projects we did. I love the beautiful feel of these colours together. The teal adds an interesting pop, don't you think?

Hope you like it!

Another Greenhouse Garden card!

Stamps: Greenhouse Garden, Sincere Salutations, Sanded
Paper: Whisper White, Basic Grey, Barely Banana, Nouveau Chic DSP
Ink: Whisper White Craft, Basic Grey, Old Olive, Barely Banana, Pumpkin Pie, Stazon™
Accessories: White Embossing Powder, Sewing Machine, Dimensionals®, Celery Grosgrain

Ahh, the last Greenhouse Garden card I've made!! Well, at least for now, that is. To be honest, I dislike this flower image quite a bit ... I don't know why. I'm just not partial to it but I had to use it at least once! So, I again combined two different challenges to help get me out of vacation mode and back into stamping! The latest Colour Q challenge was fun and challenging. I think I'll revisit it again with a different stamp set. What do you think of these colours with this set? The other challenge was Mercy's sketch. I flipped the layout to the opposite side and instead of the extra panel on the lower side, I chose to instead sew a faux layer. Yes, the machine is still out so I could use it at ease!

Let me know what you think?!

Birthday Wishes

Stamps: Greenhouse Garden, Sincere Salutations, Embrace Life
Paper: Very Vanilla, Kraft, Chocolate Chip, Rose Red, Pumpkin Pie
Ink: Rose Red, Pumpkin Pie, Chocolate Chip, Stazon™
Accessories: Eyelet Border Punch, Chocolate Satin, Beautiful Wings Embosslit, Ovals #2 Originals Die, Vintage Brads, Dimensionals®, Sewing Machine

I love how this card turned out and I hope you do too! I'm on a birthday card kick (need to replenish my non-kid stash) as well as playing around with Greenhouse Garden - a set of mine that has been sadly neglected ... So, in search of inspiration, I used today's sketch challenge over on SCS as well as Julie Buhler's Colour Concoction! I also used the sewing machine on this one as it was still out -- I don't know if you can see it around the oval? That was an interesting shape to sew ...

Anyways, hope you like it! Thanks for poppin' in :) I appreciate your visits and comments more than words can say!!!

Happy Birthday!

Stamps: Sincere Salutations, Greenhouse Garden
Paper: Kraft, Apricot Appeal, Pumpkin Pie, Sweet Pea DSP, Whisper White, Old Olive
Ink: Chocolate Chip (for sponging), Stazon™, Apricot Appeal, Pumpkin Pie
Accessories: Sweetest Stem Embosslit, Eyelet Border Punch, Old Olive Grosgrain, Filigree Brads, Soft Subtles Brads, Dimensionals®, Sewing Machine

It's my mum's birthday today! I made this card with her in mind (now I just have to send it ...). She's an amazing mum and I'm so very grateful to have her as mine!

Having been out of stamping for a while, it took me a while to get back into it, hence the sporadic posting over the past few weeks. No mojo ... but that's changed now! The sketch from 2 Sketches 4 You always gets my creative mind in gear :) I actually pulled out my sewing machine for this one!

So, of course, the details on how I made this card: it's actually pretty simple! The one flower is stamped, cut out, and popped up with dimensionals and the sweetest stem embosslit image behind it as a leaf. I think this is the first time I've used that embosslit and actually liked how it turned out. It's growing on me, anyway. The background is the DSP, not just plain Pumpkin Pie card stock as it may look in the photo ... it's from the Sweet Pea paper pack in the Occasions mini (I LOVE this DSP!).

Hope you like my card! Thanks for visiting and for all your wonderful comments :)

Christmas Card for my Inskpirations Teammates

Stamps: We Three Kings (Our Daily Bread)
Paper: Shimmery Vanilla, Gold, Bravo Burgundy, Pure Luxury White (GinaK), miscellaneous patterned paper
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Memento), Chocolate Chip Craft ink
Accessories: Gold Organdy, Eyelet Border Punch, Clear Embossing Powder, Bravo Burgundy Grosgrain, Copic Markers, Dimensionals®, Scallop Border Punch

This is the card I'd sent all of my fellow team mates on the Inkspirations team! I hope they've gotten them by now ... I know the Canadians would've received them but the Australian ones apparently take a month and I wasn't quite on the ball with sending them on time (I mailed them about two weeks before Christmas)! *oops* I hope they like them :)

My Fav's of the year, part three

September
October
November
December
and this concludes last year's favourites! I hope you've enjoyed seeing them as much as I have. It was fun looking through the whole year :) One thing I noticed while perusing was that I've created a LOT of cards over the past year and I'm happy to say that I don't have all of them anymore! So, at least I've gotten them out the door and in the mail or in people's hands. That's a good thing!

Thanks for visiting my blog over the past few years! I can hardly believe I've been blogging as long as I have. I remember starting this blog and wondered how long I'd keep it up. Thankfully, this is something I LOVE to do so making projects to post is no hardship at all. Your comments have helped spur me on too. Thanks so much!!!!
