I told you I'd be playing with this set again, didn't I?! Here's the other main image from this set. She totally reminds me of Holly Hobbie ... I started out with the colours from the most recent challenge from Embellish (kraft, sage, and light pink) and the main image.
I knew I wanted more of a pink look, so the image more focused on the sage. I stamped the image on watercolour paper as well as two different pieces of patterned paper so I could do a little watercolouring and a little paper piecing. I love how it turned out even though some of the cut-work was a tad tedious (I'm an odd one that generally likes meticulous/tedious stuff though!). She's got red hair too! That's not a colour I use often for hair colour as it seems to be difficult to get "just right". But, I like it here.
The second fun detail I want to point out is the fleurette! I just got these for the first time (even though I can crochet, I probably won't so I caved and bought them!). I didn't want a white one for this project so like anything, I customised it! I simply squirted the flower with water until it was nice and damp and then dropped a little bit of Creamy Caramel reinker over it and quickly worked it through. Then I dried it using a heat tool 'cause I'm impatient and it works. Anyway, all that to say: I really like these crocheted flowers!
Soooooo, hope you like this card as much as I do! Thanks for visiting my blog :)
