Hey, hey!

I hope that you have all had a wonderful Christmas!! We have had a great one so far, with more family to visit over the next few days for New Year's. we usually try to get together with both of our families as much as possible over the Christmas holidays and with Paul being a pastor, that can be an interesting challenge. Thankfully, many of our family are willing to spend Christmas at our place and our church had no problem with vacation over the New Year's holidays! We've had a beautiful white, snowy Christmas and it looks like New Year's will be the same :)

Soooooooooo, since I don't have anything stampy to show you (haven't stamped since before Christmas), I thought I'd key you in to what's up with SU for January!!

The Holiday mini ends soon, you can place orders from through January 4th. Just email or call me!

Sale-a-Bration begins January 5th!!! For those who are wondering what Sale-a-Bration is, it's a fabulous time of year for stampers! From January 5th through March 31st, for every $65 you spend, you can choose a FREE stamp set from the catalogue. Not only that, but you also get to choose from a selection of stamp sets from the main catalogue!!! You can also receive even more freebies by hosting your own workshop (with sales of over $395).

The new Occasions Mini (link downloads the pdf) begins at the same time as Sale-a-bration and goes until the end of March as well. Fabulous new products in there including unmounted stamps! Yes, you read that right. Stampin' Up! is now offering an unmounted option for you. These stamps are the same as they've always been, offering high quality, deeply etched rubber -- just without the wood blocks! they come in a cool DVD-size case that includes labels for the case as well as the stamps. the labels go easily on the backside of the rubber for easy positioning while stamping. There is also a line of clear blocks so you can purchase the ones you need and never have to buy blocks again :) Fun option, eh? There's a few other surprises in the mini but I'll have to wait to show you until later!

Can't think of anything else at the moment, but if you have any questions or want to place your order, just email me!

Have a happy New Year!!!!

Peace on Earth

Ink: Real Red Craft, Ruby Red Craft
Accessories: Scallop Border Punch, Ornament Punch, Silver Cord, Neutrals Brads, Corner Rounder, Little Leaves Sizzlits Die, Hologram Highlights Embossing Powder

Here's a last Christmas card for you! I finally completed all the Christmas cards I needed for this year There is a few more to show you but they'll have to wait until January sometime... :) I'd seen this fun 3D version of the ornament punch somewhere online and it's super easy to recreate. All you need is the ornament punch! Punch three of them and fold two in half. Adhere the two folded ones together on one side and then attach them both to the third which becomes the base.

Hope you like this Christmas card! I'm taking a blogging vacation until the new year so I want to wish each one of you a very Merry Christmas and a happy New Year. May your homes be surrounded by light and filled with joy as you celebrate with friends and family. May you find the true meaning of Christmas!

Merry Christmas Snowmen

Stamps: Holiday Line-Up, Teeny Tiny Phrases, Serene Snowflakes
Paper: Kraft, Not Quite Navy, Bordering Blue, Watercolour Paper, Bella Bleu DSP
Ink: Chocolate Chip (Classic and Craft), various for colouring, Close to Cocoa
Accessories: Tag Corner Punch, Striped Chocolate Chip Grosgrain, Chocolate Chip Satin (retired), Clear Embossing Powder, Eyelet Border Punch, Crimper, Brads, Dimensionals®, Aquapainter™

I took my colour inspiration from the patterned paper that I felt like using. I was in a bit of a sombre mood while creating this card ... kind of created it out of boredom (not like there's any lack of things to do around here!). So, out came the snowmen from Holiday Lineup and I set to work! Hope you like my card! Thanks for visiting!!

Taylored Expressions Challenge

Stamps: Dasher, Christmas Punch, Friends 24/7
Paper: Kraft, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, Real Red
Ink: Whisper White, Chocolate Chip Craft
Accessories: Eyelet Border Punch, Wide Oval Punch, Hologram Highlights Embossing Powder, Dimensionals®, Chocolate Satin Ribbon (retired), Backgrounds 1 Texturz Plates

With the Inkspirations team on a Christmas break, I feel like this past week has been all about revisiting the challenges that I used to make time for but have somehow lost touch with! I really loved Taylor's challenges so I made sure to take the time this week for a sketch challenge.

I've been a busy little housewife the past few days too, all while managing to find time to stamp! Lots of preparing for Christmas time. So many things happening in the next couple of weeks! We're having some friends over for my birthday on Sunday so I've gotten all the appetizers ready already. Then, we always do a fondue for Christmas Eve and I've gotten the meatballs and bitterballen ready. Don't know what "bitterballen" are? They are sooooooooooo yummy! Basically, it's like a meat paste that's been rolled in bread crumbs and egg and then you deep fry them. So good! Then, Christmas day, and then we're heading to my folks for New Year's so I've got a bunch of stuff made for that too!

Anyways, today I've got lots of baking to do now that the other stuff is done!

Hope you like this challenge card! Thanks for visiting!

Sketch for You to Try

Stamps: Scenic Season, Serene Snowflakes
Paper: Kraft, Rich Razzleberry, Merry Moments DSP, Very Vanilla, Old Olive
Ink: Elegant Eggplant Craft ink, Close to Cocoa Classic Ink
Accessories: Chocolate Satin Ribbon (retired), Little Leaves Sizzlits die, Clear Microbeads, Scallop Edge Punch, Dimensionals®, Movers & Shapers Bigz die, Holiday Windows Movers & Shapers die, fabric,
clear embossing powder, half-back pearls

Here's another sketch challenge that I haven't had time to try - Jen's "Sketch for You to Try"! As you can see, this is another card using the same colours, inks, and papers as the past two. It's the last one, I promise! I hope you're not sick of them? Here's a picture of the dove all done on top of the fabric I cut it out of. I used to have scads of fabric when I was into quilting for a while but I haven't touched it in a long time now that I've found joy in stamping and paper-crafting! So, the fabric was put to good use for these three cards. I'd given the remaining fabric to my mom who really enjoys sewing. Beyond that, the main reason I'd used the fabric is because of a different challenge I'd seen on the Cards blog: to use felt or fabric on your Christmas/Holiday cards.

I can finally say I'm no longer a "bow-tard". It always bugged me that I couldn't create a nice bow ... so I practiced and practiced. I even bought the Bow-Easy tool (which is great, BTW) but I wanted to be able to make a bow without having to buy a tool. I'd seen a wonderful video by Joanne Basile that has TOTALLY helped me! Thanks Joanne! So, you're going to be seeing a lot more bows by moi as time goes by. I LOVE this ribbon for tying these bows. I've got to use it all up before Christmas as I'll probably not touch it again afterwards. It's completely luscious ribbon. I'm so excited to see that the new upcoming mini has satin ribbon in it! Yay!!

Anyways, hope you like my card! Please let me know what you think!

Fall-to Layout 72

Stamps: Scenic Season, Serene Snowflakes
Paper: Kraft, Rich Razzleberry, Merry Moments DSP, Very Vanilla, Cottage Wall DSP, Old Olive

Accessories: Chocolate Satin Ribbon (retired), Gold Organdy (retired), Little Leaves Sizzlits die, Clear Microbeads, Dimensionals®, Movers & Shapers Bigz die, Holiday Windows Movers & Shapers die, fabric, clear embossing powder

Here's the second version of a card using the same dove. I used the layout from Clean & Simple Stamping and again used the same colours. I really like these colours together! Still simple stamping overall. I hope you like my card! Let me know what you think?!

2 Sketches 4 You Sketch

Stamps: Elzybells Art Stamps: Away In a Manger, Mother & Child
Paper: Stampin' Up!: Kraft, Chocolate Chip, Naturals Ivory, Not Quite Navy, Watercolour Paper; (?) Patterned Paper
Ink: Stampin' Up!: Chocolate Chip Craft, various for colouring
Accessories: Stampin' Up!: Gold Cord, Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder, Clear Embossing Powder, Aquapainter™, Dimensionals®, Scallop Trim Edge Punch

I'm still in Christmas mode and I haven't used this image yet (I bought it last year after Christmas). So, inked it up just for this card using the sketch from 2 Sketches 4 You! Did you spot the new things? I just received my small preorder of a few fun goodies coming in the new Stampin' Up! Occasions mini (begins on January 5th along with Sale-a-bration)! I had to use the new Perfect Polka Dot embossing folder and the Scallop Trim punch (available free with Sale-a-bration!). I hope you like my card! Just a few more Christmas cards and then I'm done ... :) it's my favourite time of year so I like making tons of Christmas cards!!

Have a great day! Thanks for visiting my blog!!

Weekend Sketch Challenge 110

Stamps: Scenic Season, Serene Snowflakes
Paper: Kraft, Rich Razzleberry, Merry Moments DSP, Very Vanilla, Old Olive
Ink: Elegant Eggplant Craft ink, Close to Cocoa Classic Ink
Accessories: Chocolate Satin Ribbon (retired), Gold Organdy (retired), Little Leaves Sizzlits die, Clear Microbeads, Eyelet Border Punch, Dimensionals®, Movers & Shapers Bigz die, Holiday Windows Movers & Shapers die, fabric, clear embossing powder

I finally found time to participate in a Weekend Sketch Challenge! I think it's the last one of the year, but I'd like to try getting more into making time for more challenges as I really do like them so much. I love how this card turned out. I used the dove that's found in the Holiday Windows die set (from the Holiday Mini that ends by the end of this month!). I had first adhered some fabric to chipboard as well as some of the sticky pages and then die cut it. Once die cut, I removed the liner from the sticky sheet and add clear micro beads. I'd originally thought I'd be using three doves on one card, but it didn't seem to work that way so expect to see three variations of cards using this dove over the next couple of days!! Overall, the stamping is simple, keeping the focus on the dove. The sentiment is stamped in Elegant Eggplant Craft ink and embossed with clear embossing powder.

Thanks for visiting!

Mojo Monday Sketch

Stamps: Blessed Christmas (Verve Stamps)
Paper: Pure Luxury White (GinaK); Confetti White, Bravo Burgundy, Mellow Moss, Merry Moments DSP
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Memento); Gold Encore (Stampin' Up!)
Accessories: Circle Nestabilities (Spellbinders); Bravo Burgundy Grosgrain, Petals-a-Plenty Embossing Folder, Dimensionals®, Gold Embossing Powder (Stampin' Up!); Copic Markers

Another fun Christmas card for you today! I hope to be near done all these Christmas cards soon ... I am having fun but I am starting to tire of never-ending Christmas cards. It must be because I'm now at the crunch time of needing them ...! I played with the sketch over at Mojo Monday and used some new stamps that I had gotten last month (I think?). The poinsettia is a beautiful image! I don't know if you can see it, but there's glitter on the flower (not the leaves) and the sentiment is embossed using Gold embossing powder.

Thanks for looking!

Card Patterns Sketch 45

Stamps: Inspired by Nature, Friends 24/7
Paper: Kraft, Old Olive, Blush Blossom, Real Red, Whisper White, Chocolate Chip, Christmas Cocoa DSP
Ink: Versa Mark®, Chocolate Chip, Rose Red, Regal Rose, Close to Cocoa, Old Olive, Chocolate Chip Craft
Accessories: Scallop Edge punch, Nestabilities, Heart Punch, Clear Embossing Powder, Dimensionals®, Chocolate Taffeta

Wow, this sketch was interesting ... all those circles! and, by now, you should know that I'm not so good with non-linear shapes ... I do love how this card turned out though. I took a break from the Christmas cards (still have a couple to make) to make this one. I thought it would be a perfect card for a "whatever" occasion. Basically, if I need a card, I have one that'll fit basically anything!

Hope you like it! Please let me know what you think!

Inkspirations Sketch Challenge #17

Accessories: Gold Brads, Eyelet Border Punch, Chocolate Satin (retired), Dimensionals®, Gold Embossing Powder, Clear Embossing Powder, 5-Petal Punch, Boho Blossoms Punch

Another fun sketch this week for the Inkspirations Sketch challenge! I think I'm pretty much close to being done all the Christmas cards I'll need for this year but extras won't hurt as I'll just save them for next year and it's always handy to have a few extra just in case I forgot anyone (hope not, though!). I have oodles of this designer paper left so I'm going to try to use it all up before the mini disappears at the end of this month! I LOVE this paper and seriously hope for more textured paper like this in upcoming catties. Anyways, please check out what the amazing Inkspirations team has come up with this week by clicking on their blogs - Cindy, Kirsty, Chantelle, Sarah-Jane, Dawn, Anthonette Chavez (Guest DT), and Makeesha! and please let us know what YOU create by linking your creation up on Keesh's blog!!

Ink: Sage Shadow, Basic Black Craft, Glorious Green, various for colouring
Accessories: Scallop Border Punch, Dimensionals®, Rhinestone Brad, Corner Rounder, Bashful Blue Stitched Grosgrain

OK, lame title, but it is an elf card saying noel! I made this using two different challenges: Mercy's sketch and the recent Color Q challenge! It's an interesting mix of colours ... I don't think I've used my Glorious Green marker before!

Hope you like my card! Thanks for stopping by my blog!

SCS Sketch Challenge

Paper: Kraft, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, Christmas Cocoa DSP (Stampin' Up!)
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Memento); Chocolate Chip (Stampin' Up!)
Accessories: Copic Markers, Glitter Pen, Eyelet Border Punch, Dimensionals®, Gold Organdy, Gold Cord

Here's another fun Christmas card! I was digging through my overwhelming stamp collection and found this stamp that I'd bought last year and hadn't really used much. The sentiment hadn't been used at all ... isn't that bad? LOL! I'm still in need of a bunch more Christmas cards so I'd seen the sketch for today's challenge a little early and made this card (actually, made two of them). It's pretty clean and simple over all, don't you think?

Thanks for visiting my blog today!

Paper: Old Olive, Whisper White, Real Red
Ink: Old Olive, Real Red
Accessories: Crop-a-dile, Eyelets, Linen Thread, Ornament Punch, Dimensionals®, 3/4" Circle Punch

This was the last project at the Christmas Cards Class! These cute tags were inspired by another crafter (whom I can't remember at the moment). Each attendee made 4 tags - two red and two green!

I hope you've enjoyed seeing the projects from this latest class of mine! Thanks for visiting!

Christmas Crop Card Class - Sparkly and Bright

Accessories: 1-3/8" Circle Punch, Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder, Corner Rounder, Dimensionals®, Silver Cord, Sponges

I made a card similar to this last year but not in these colours! I love the bold and bright colour combination for a retro feeling Christmas card, don't you?

Card Patterns Sketch 44

Ink: Stazon™, various for colouring, Green Gable
Accessories: Soft Subtles Brads, Scallop Edge Punch, Dimensionals®, Bermuda Bay Grosgrain, Backgrounds 1 Texturz Plates, Aquapainter™

Another fun sketch from Card Patterns for you today! This time, I needed a birthday card for my son who's turning 4 tomorrow. Yes, two birthdays in three days ... it's always a crazy week ... and yes, they are 1 year and 2 days apart! Anyways, Jake loves pink so I figured that the latest Color Q challenge would fit in well with this sketch. I used another new-to-me stamp set: Voilà. I flipped the sketch and omitted the diagonal square (or diamond) on the corner. You could also interpret the popped off cake as that piece too!

Please check out the Card Patterns blog to see what the rest of the team has made using the sketch. Thanks for visiting!

Inkspirations Inspiration Challenge #16

This was a fun inspiration photo to start with! It's my daughter Maria's birthday today so the colours were perfect for her! She turns five, so that's what's inside the card. I used Mercy's sketch again this week and had fun with it! I hope you like my card too!

Please check out the challenge and link up your creation! The Inkspirations team has made some fabulous projects and be sure to stop by Cindy's blog to see who won the challenge last week!

Have a great day!

Christmas Crop Card Class - Peace on Earth

Stamps: Serene Snowflakes, Four the Holidays
Paper: Kraft, Chocolate Chip, Christmas Cocoa DSP, Whisper White
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Soft Suede
Accessories: Buttons Sizzlits die, Snowflake Punch, Scallop Border Punch, Linen Thread, Chocolate Grosgrain

This is the third card from the class last weekend! I love the colours of this one. Soft browns along with snowflakes reminds me of sitting by the fire, sipping hot chocolate, and watching the snow gently fall! I LOVE snow (just not driving in it)!

Hope you like my card! Thanks for stopping in my blog today!
