Card Patterns Sketch 43

Stamps: Delightful Decorations, Serene Snowflakes
Paper: Bravo Burgundy, Bashful Blue, Old Olive, Whisper White
Ink: Bravo Burgundy, Bashful Blue, Old Olive, Always Artichoke, Versa Mark®
Accessories: Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder, Dimensionals®, Bashful Blue Grosgrain, Eyelet Border Punch, Playground Designer Button, Linen Thread, Ornament Punch, Icicle Rub Ons

This week, the sketch at Card Patterns is another really interesting one. I started out with the colour challenge from a new-to-me place called "Colour Q". This is their eighth colour challenge and I've finally found the time to participate. The inspiration photo with the colours was a gorgeous stocking! I created a sort of OSW (one sheet wonder - basically a handmade piece of paper) with the ornament stamps in random colour inks and then I embossed the whole piece with Iridescent Ice embossing powder. Then, I put some of the silver snowflake rub ons over top for a little something else.

Please check out the Card Patterns blog to see what the rest of the team made with this sketch and then link up your creation there too!

Hope you like my card! Thanks for visiting :)

Accessories: Scallop Border Punch, Texturz Embossing Plate, Snowflake Punch, Dimensionals®, Real Red Wide Grosgrain, Sherbet Designer Buttons, Linen Thread, Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder

It's time for another colour challenge from Keesh! This is such a fun colour combination and of course, being in Christmas mode, it makes for a very cheery Christmas card! I used the sketch from Mojo Monday to help (you know I love sketches!) and came up with these two cards. I rotated the layout for the second card so I'd have two similar yet still different cards. If I was very ambitious, I could have done four cards with 4 twists to the layout; but I'm not ambitious, LOL!

Anywho, please check out the challenge over on Keesh's blog and then check out my lovely Inkspiration team mate's creations!!

Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas Decorations!

I've had this lantern for quite a while ... my parents had picked some up when they were on sale (super super cheap) and had asked me if I wanted one and I'd said "sure". It's sat in my garage for the past year and I finally had an idea of what I wanted to do!! I cleaned it all up and then used the "Icicle" rub ons (found in the current Holiday Mini catalogue; item #116804) right on the glass. Super easy. I did make sure to put the rub ons on the inside of the glass as I have young curious children and I don't want to see little pieces missing because they scratched it off ... yes, that would happen :) This is called "preventative measures", LOL! I only used one of the two sheets that come in the package, so I now have enough to do something else still!

Anyways, the rest is simple. I'd picked up the reindeer at the dollar store and then put a tea light candle in it! I've been hanging it outside on my sadly neglected hanging basket holder (never really have had a real hanging basket there -- I'm so not a gardening type).

Hope you like it and are inspired to create something beautiful for your home!

2 cards, one sketch :)

Stamps: Snow Buddies, Teeny Tiny Phrases, Four the Holidays, Many Merry Messages
Paper: Bravo Burgundy, Always Artichoke, Kraft, Whisper White
Ink: Whisper White, Soft Suede, Stazon™
Accessories: Curly Label Punch, Linen Thread, 1-3/4" Circle Punch, Dimensionals®, Playground Designer Buttons

Finally made time to play with one of Mercy's sketches! Yay!! I love her sketches but have recently been overloaded with so many other non-stamping things that I've barely had time to stamp ... Normally, I have a week or two of posts ahead of me! Hence the unexplained days off :) Anyways, I'm blathering about nothing but again, I loved this sketch. I also loved a card I'd seen by Heather Nichols and that inspired this one!! She'd used a definition stamp for the background on the Kraft card stock but I don't have one so I made my own! I've always wanted to get one from Stampin' Up but never did 'cause I wasn't sure how much I'd use it ... So, me and my handy-dandy Stamp-a-ma-jig went to work! It was quite a bit of extra work as the craft ink had to be dried using the heat tool every time I stamped so I could line up the next word without smearing white ink everywhere.

Repeatable technique? not with craft ink ...

Do I love the look? You bet!

As always, at this time of year, I always make two cards for every sketch or challenge or whatever as I use/need way too many Christmas cards. I happened to have two pieces of Burgundy already cut to card size, just one was for a tall card and one was for a wide card. Worked out well! Hope you like my cards!

Fall-to Layout 69

Stamps: Scenic Season, Serene Snowflakes
Paper: Kraft
Ink: Gold Encore, Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Rhinestones, Gold Embossing Powder

Ahhhhh, a truly simple card! I was trying to get into stamping and I started with the latest sketch on Clean & Simple Stamping. This truly is clean and simply as there are NO layers and minimal stamping! Perfectly easy to reproduce, that is, if I wanted to ...

Hope you like it! Thanks for stopping by!

My Digital Studio calendar

I've started to work on a digital scrap calendar for my MIL (she LOVES pictorial calendars!). Now that my MDS is working perfectly, I've been starting to get slowly into it and figure it out. Like any program, it has it's particularities that you must learn, but overall, it's a very easy program to play with. One thing I totally love is the easy colour matching and product matching. The base pages I've used in this page are a new download called "Christmas Cocoa II". Just something to keep in mind, the downloads are usable in any software, not just My Digital Studio!

It's pretty simple, but I really wanted the pic of four my kids to stand out. This picture was taken at my parents place last winter already so I need to get back into taking more pictures of the kids, especially seeing as our youngest is almost 2! (don't worry, I have been taking pictures during those two years...)

In other news, I've repeatedly said to family and friends that I'd never "do" Facebook ... well I've succumbed. It's about the only way I can see and keep up with many of my family members as they're starting to spread out across the country (mainly Canada but also some in the USA)! I'm soooooooo addicted to the game Farmville that it's throwing off my time for stamping. Isn't that sad?

Anyways, hope you like my page! Thanks for visiting!

Card Patterns Sketch 42

Stamps: Christmas Punch, Holiday Lineup, Patterned Pines, Snow Buddies
Paper: Bermuda Bay, Rich Razzleberry, Dusty Durango, Whisper White
Ink: Bermuda Bay, Rich Razzleberry, Dusty Durango, Basic Black, Stazon™
Accessories: Mat Pack & Piercer, Ornament Punch, 3/4" Circle Punch, Dimensionals®, Silver Cord, White Gel Pen, Clear Rhinestone Brads
Big Shot Dies: Circles #2 Originals Die, Snowflake Originals Die, Movers & Shapers Bigz die, Holiday Windows Die

Another great sketch for you today, this time from Card Patterns! We're already on #42 which is hard to believe ... This is a really interesting sketch with the three circles. I chose to interpret two of them as the snowflake/ornament combo. It's actually a fairly simple card (meaning --> not many layers). I was colour inspired by a card I'd found in a recent Stampin' Success magazine (if you can tell me which one, I'll send you this card! LOL). I love this modern feeling Christmas card which is SO different than yesterday's card!

Thank for visiting today! Please let me know what you think of this card?!

Check out the challenge on the Card Patterns blog and link up your creation!

Inkspirations Sketch #16

Stamps: Friends 24/7, Many Merry Messages
Paper: Soft Suede, Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla, Bella Bleu DSP, Watercolour Paper
Ink: Bordering Blue, Chocolate Chip Craft and Classic
Accessories: Top Note die, Dimensionals®, Clear Embossing Powder, Chocolate Taffeta, Chocolate Satin, Eyelet Border Punch, Button Latte, Linen Thread

Another fabulous sketch this week for you! I changed the circle to the Top Note die and went with that. I didn't want to waste the second half of the shape so I made two cards! I just rotated the sketch 90º. Love how they turned out!! The colours are soft and pretty together. Hope you like them too! Please let me know, eh?!

Don't forget to check out the challenge on Keesh's blog this week as well as my fellow Inkspirations team mates!

Season's Greetings

Stamps: Patterned Pines, Snow Swirled
Paper: Rich Razzleberry, Taken with Teal, Old Olive, Holiday Lounge DSP, Whisper White
Ink: Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive, Bashful Blue
Accessories: Rich Razzleberry Dotted Grosgrain. Dazzling Diamonds Glitter. Crystal Effects

I think I'd said it earlier, but I can't remember anymore -- I had an In Colour Club meeting last week and this is the second card we'd made. I wanted a completely retro feeling card as the other was quite traditional. I find it interesting when people say they only make a certain type of card when I like to think I'm all over the board when it comes to that. These two cards certainly show that, don't you think?

all Stampin' Up! supplies available 24/7 through my demonstrator website!

I'd shown you all my first digital scrap page and I heard no end to the grammatical errors which I'd addressed in the post itself as to why they existed. Originally, it had taken me two days to make this one very simple scrap page and I think I'd opened the program about 12 times because it kept crashing -- hence the unfixed page until now! Thanks to some fabulous help from Stampin' Up, they helped get my program up and running so I could actually fix it.

Peace on Earth

I had just gotten these stamps from Verve stamps and of course, had to ink them up to use them! I love these colours together. I rarely used Burgundy except at Christmas time as I find it a very rich colour. I made three of these cards because we're hoping to have my hubby's family here for Christmas time and I thought it would be kind of neat to send invitations out even though we've already talked about it somewhat generally. This makes it more official, don't you think?

I stamped the poinsettia and coloured it in using alcohol based markers and then popped it up using dimensionals. The stars are all embossed with gold embossing powder and then I stamped the smaller star using Bravo Burgundy ink. It makes a neat patterned paper, don't you think?

Anywho, hope you're having a good day! Thanks for stopping by!

Card Patterns Sketch 41!

It's time for a new sketch from Card Patterns! I decided to make mine a three dimensional item --> a tag box. I'm going to hold a class making this in the near future (watch for details!), so if you're interested, just let me know!! LOL :) I've seen similar tag box ideas floating around online and I made changes and added a few other details as I made this one so it's my own measurements. There isn't a template this time as it is a class-only perk!! So, email me if you're interested in either coming to the class or receiving a class-in-the-mail package (all consumable supplies included; all pre-scored, pre-cut; stamping not included).

Thanks for visiting my blog!! Please check out Card Patterns for the current sketch and to see what the rest of the CP team made!

Inkspirations Inspiration Challenge

Stamps: Pocket Silhouettes, Framed with Love, Paradise, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black, Going Grey, Basic Grey
Ink: Whisper White, Basic Black craft, Stazon™, Going Grey
Accessories: White & Silver Embossing Powder, Lots of Tags Sizzlits die, Silver Brads, Basic Grey Corduroy Brad, Basic Black Grosgrain, Dimensionals®, Sewing Machine

I've left the Christmas cards for a bit because I just wasn't inspired to make a Christmas card with this pic of these fab pillows! Keesh has given us another wonderful inspiration challenge. I'm curious to see if others on the Inkspirations Team were inspired to use Pocket Silhouettes?! I'll have to check them out in the morning (well, it's evening for the Aussie's!). Anyways, my card ... I used this week's Mojo Monday sketch as another help because I've been so out of stamping for a couple of weeks. Instead of a paper panel, I actually dragged out my sewing machine to sew a little bit of folded grosgrain onto the card. Looks neat, eh?!

I hope you like my card! Please check out the challenge over on Keesh's blog and see what the rest of the team did this week :) Don't forget to make your card and link it up on Keesh's blog!!

ETA: Lesley had asked how I stamped this! So, I'm assuming you're asking about the black card stock piece? I first stamped the image from pocket silhouettes in Whisper White craft ink and embossed it with White embossing powder. Then, I took the same stamp image and stamped it using Basic Black craft ink (I don't have a silver craft ink ... yet) and embossed it using silver embossing powder. Really important thing to remember to use when trying to emboss lighter colours on dark card stock --> the Embossing Buddy! Never any stray powder!! Hope that answers your question :)

2 Sketches 4 You - Sketch Challenge!

Stamps: Friends 24/7, Warm Words
Paper: Very Vanilla, Kraft, Soft Suede, Chocolate Chip, Watercolour Paper, Dusty Durango
Ink: Gold Encore, Chocolate Chip Craft, Dusty Durango
Accessories: Gold Embossing powder, Chocolate Chip grosgrain, Clear Embossing Powder, Dimensionals®, Aquapainter™, Mini Library Clip

Finally eked out some time to stamp... well, I had to 'cause I had an In Colour club meeting last night! This was one of our two projects for this month. I chose to combine Dusty Durango, Soft Suede, and Kraft for a calm Christmas card. I also used the sketch from 2 Sketches 4 You! Hope you like my card!! Thanks for visiting :)

Card Patterns Noel

Stamps: Bearing Gifts, Many Merry Messages
Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black, Christmas Cocoa Specialty DSP, Kraft, Real Red, Watercolour Paper
Ink: Stazon™, Versa Mark®, Gold Encore, Whisper White
Accessories: Oval Sizzix Originals die, Backgrounds 1 Texturz plate, Snowflake Punch, Dimensionals®, Dotted Red Grosgrain, Crystal Effects®, Clear Embossing powder, Red Glitter, Gold Embossing Powder

I just had to revisit the sketch from Card Patterns as I loved the sketch so much! This time though, I did not flip it, but used it as is just without the three embellies along the bottom. I pulled out a stamp I'd bought but not used yet (Bearing Gifts -- a cute single stamp in the back of the SU catty!) and stamped it on watercolour paper. Coloured it in and embossed the whole thing with clear embossing powder and then I added a touch of glitter to it using Crystal Effects.

Thanks for visiting my blog! Have a great day!!

Card Patterns Sketch 40

Here's my card for today's Card Patterns challenge! I flipped the sketch sideways to fit the image I was using. I had stamped three of these snowmen by masking the centre one and stamped a snowman on either side of it. They were coloured in using an alcohol based marker and then I coated them with Crystal Effects!

Check out the Card Patterns blog to see the rest of the DT's projects and to link up your creation!

Inkspirations Colour Challenge!

Stamps: Scenic Season, Serene Snowflakes
Paper: Very Vanilla, Close to Cocoa, Chocolate Chip, Really Rust
Ink: Craft Inks --> Chocolate Chip, Really Rust; Classic Inks --> Close to Cocoa, Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Eyelet Border Punch, Chocolate Chip Striped Grosgrain, Chocolate Satin, Kraft Corduroy Button, Linen Thread, Dimensionals®, Texturz Backgrounds Plate 1, Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder

This week, the colours from this week's Inkspiration challenge are really fall-ish type colours but I'm really in Christmas mode so I hope I've made it work for a Christmas card?
I started out with embossing the trees with Iridescent Ice embossing powder (I LOVE this embossing powder!). The sentiment was also embossed with the same powder. The "bow" is really simple. It's just a loop of ribbon tied in the middle!

Hope you like what I've made this week! Please check out Keesh's blog and the rest of the Inkspirations team! Have a great day!
