More Sketch cards :)

Okay, I went to the doc today, I have STREP THROAT! No wonder my throat kills like crazy ... Yuck. I can live without this illness ever again. Yucky fever, achy body, hungry but no ability to swallow. I'm a suckless sick person too. I become a big ol' baby!! (just ask my hubby ...)

But, anyways, here's a few more of these sketch cards from Taylor's Cupcake Challenge Anniversary!

TECC52SH
This is for Stephanie Hargis' sketch. Love the simple layout (although it could easily be interpreted another way!). I used an American Art Stamp image (Angels 5) and had fun paper piecing her. I love how soft and simple this card is!

Stamps: Angels 5 (American Art Stamp)
Paper: Pure Luxury 120lb (GinaK), Crate Paper
Ink: Tuxedo (Memento), Black Craft
Accessories: Black EP, Black Satin, Silver HPH, Glitter Pen, Copic Markers

TECC52JP
This is Jackie Pedro's sketch. I used an image sent to me from In Style stamps, called Ginger. Isn't she so sweet?! The sentiment matches this image perfectly and it's so true.

Stamps: Ginger (InStyle Stamps), Sugarplum Sentiments (CC Designs)
Paper: Pink Pirouette, Kiwi Kiss, Holiday SU DSP, Pure Luxury CS (GinaK)
Ink: Tuxedo (Memento)
Accessories: Swiss Dots CB, Copic Markers, Nestabilities, Prima Flower, Rhinestone Brad, pink brads, Pink ric rac, Dimensionals®

Thanks for looking!

a few more sketch cards!

okay, no new stuff from me, I'm feeling yucky. I think I have a flu or something ... So, you get to see the sketches I finished for Taylor's Cupcake Challenge anniversary. There are NINE sketches for this challenge! and I did all of them!

TECC52SS
This is a sketch from Sherrie Siemens. This one actually gave me fits ... These gals really know how to stretch a person with all of these circles ... I LOVE how the giraffe turned out, though! I did flip the sketch so the giraffe would be facing inside the card rather than out. I'd link you up to the giraffe, but I cannot find it on their website ????

Stamps: Geoffrey Giraffe (Spiral Whisper), Family Phrases (Verve Stamps)
Paper: Barely Banana, Whisper White, Soft Sky, some really old dp ...
Ink: Tuxedo (Memento)
Accessories: Clear Rhinestone Brads, ribbon, Dimensionals®, nestabilities, copic markers

TECC52AW
This one's from Ana Wolfhart. I just loved this sketch. So fun to play with! This image is from Sugar Nellie, one of the newish ones by Leanne Ellis, called "Wish". I LOVE the style of this artist and I can't wait to see what else she comes up with :)

I cut out the letters and popped them up. The stamped lines are covered with linen thread to make it look like the mini library clips are actually holding them on. The sentiment is a rub-on from who-knows-where ...

Stamps: Wish (Sugar Nellie)
Paper: Kiwi Kiss, Baja Breeze, Holiday ? DSP, Java (Bazzill), Pure Luxury CS (GinaK)
Ink: Tuxedo (Memento)
Accessories: Flower (Prima), Designer Bouquet Button (SU), Mini Library Clips (SU), Dimensionals® (SU), Olive Grosgrain (SU), Linen Thread (SU), Copic Markers

Thanks for stopping by!!

I LOVE this card! It turned out so pretty! I made this for Sunday's Featured Stamper challenge, a stamper named Vicky Gould. I chose THIS card of hers to case and while it may not look the same anymore, it still is a case! I kept the stamps (sort of) and the colours but used a layout from Taylor's Cupcake Challenge anniversary by Monika Davis. I never do circle cards, so this was a real challenge for me!

TECC52TV • Some Bunny
Stamps: Some Bunny (Verve Stamps), Love You Much (SU)
Paper: Pink Pirouette, Java (Bazzill), Love You Much DSP (SU, retired), watercolour paper
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Pink Pirouette, various for colouring
Accessories: crystal effects, dimensionals®, nestabilities, chocolate taffeta, scallop edge punch, designer button bouquet, linen thread

Taylored Expressions is having a one-year-of-sketches challenge and this my card for one of the sketches for Taylor's Cupcake Challenge! This sketch is from Taylor herself! I love the simple layout, so fun to play with.

I had just gotten some new-to-me Verve images, this one's called Some Bunny. To colour this cute little image in, I actually stamped it on watercolour paper with chocolate chip ink and then simply pulled the lines of the image inside to give it a hint of colour! Cute, eh? Then, I covered the bunny with crystal effects.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Sweet Sunday Sketch

I found a new (ish) challenge blogger, Karen from The Sweetest Thing! I loved this sketch and while it felt difficult while working on it, I love the end result. I'm on the fence as to whether or not to use it as part of my stamp club this month ... we'll see what else I come up with! It's not that I don't like the card, it just feels like I'm ready too early :) LOL!!

Anyways, card details: pretty simple. I used the Heat and Stick powder along with a VersaMarker to put the glitter in the words. The birds and hearts all have Crystal Effects coating them for added pizazz. The flower is replaced with a Flower Fusion felt flower and rhinestone brad.

Hope you like it! Thanks for visiting!!

*all from Stampin' Up!®*

Stamps: Love You Much
Paper: Kraft, Basic Black, Pink Pirouette, Red Riding Hood, Whisper White, Pink Pirouette and Riding Hood Red Patterns Designer Series Paper
Ink: Stazon™, Old Olive marker, Close to Cocoa
Accessories: Flower Fusion felt flower, Fire Circle Rhinestone Brads, Black Grosgrain, Scallop Edge Punch, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, Heat & Stick Powder, Crystal Effects, Dimensionals®

So Sweet

I made this card a little while ago for the Splitcoast sketch challenge last Wednesday. Pretty simple little card, but I really love it. I'm really drawn to making baby boy cards, don't know why. So I must work on some girl ones, but I think I need some cute little girl paper!

I used a new fun image called "Tiny the Baby Bunny". Isn't he just adorable?! Easily made girl or boy, methinks!! When I received my order from FunkyKits, they'd included a free sentiment stamp which is oh-so-cute! Wasn't that great of them? Thank you so much Sugar Nellie! I used it on this card as my sentiment (embossed with white embossing powder) along with a jumbo eyelet and rhinestone brad. The image was watercoloured with an aquapainter and ink refills (or the lids of my inkpads).

Thanks for stopping by today!

Stamps: Tiny the Baby Bunny (Sugar Nellie)
Paper: Muirfield DSP, Kraft, Baja Breeze, Chocolate Chip, Watercolour Paper
Ink: Stazon™, Whisper White, various for colouring
Accessories: Aquapainter™, White EP, Jumbo Eyelet, Organdy, Rhinestone Brad, Dimensionals®, Oval Nestabilities, Circle Punches

Happy Birthday!

I was inspired to make this card by one I'd seen on SCS, by Tessa Wise. I just loved the simplicity of the layout, yet it was just so cute!! I made this one for that Birthday card class I'd had a while back and it was a hit! Nice and easy but still has quite an impact, eh?

Stamps: Taffy Alphabet, Hugs & Wishes, Crazy for Cupcakes
Paper: Baja Breeze, Whisper White
Ink: Baja Breeze, Tangerine Tango, So Saffron, Riding Hood Red, Kiwi Kiss, Stazon™, Pretty in Pink Marker
Accessories: White Taffeta, Dimensionals®

I was awarded two awards from Kim! Thank you so much, Kim!!! I don't generally forward on awards, not that there aren't enough fabulous bloggers out there, but more because there are too many fabulous bloggers. I wouldn't want to leave anyone out. Any of the blogs in my sidebar are all fabulous along with so many others (if I had all the blogs I read in my sidebar, my blog would take forever to load! So, if you visit my blog, please consider taking this tag as your own :)

January Stamp Club - 3D Project

This was January's 3D project for my stamp club. I'd seen an idea on Holly's blog a looooooooooong time ago and filed it away for future use. Finally, I remembered it and that's what we did! I did change the measurements for a thinner box.

The decoration is quite simple, but I just LOVE it! So cute!! I stamped the bird from Pun Fun, masked the "Thanks" from the Cute & Curly set and stamped the border image over the bird. Then, I cut it along it's edges and matted it on the curly label punched piece. The mini library clip just adds the right touch, eh?!

Hope you like it!

Stamps: Pun Fun, Family Phrases
Paper: Summer Picnic DSP, Old Olive, Bashful Blue, Real Red, Whisper White
Ink: Stazon™, Whisper White, various for colouring
Accessories: Silver Brads, ½” Circle Punch, Curly Label Punch, Mini Library Clip, Dimensionals®, Bashful Blue Striped Grosgrain

P.S. Here's a template! They're not really to scale, so don't freak out if your project doesn't turn out exactly the same as the template pics! Let me know if you make one!!

Stamp Class

I had a stamp class earlier this week and these are the three projects they did. They each made two of each design! A couple of them are sketch challenge cards from various places, I'll link it lower down! This class focused on new product in the now-current Spring/Summer catalogue (link in my sidebar). Have you seen the new catalogue? It's absolutely fantastic! There are tons of new embellies ... my order is going to be huge and my hubby not so happy ... LOL, just kidding, I've been saving up! If you're interested in having your own catty, I ask $10 for them and I can mail it to you (shipping extra) or you can stop by to pick it up (perhaps come for a class or host a workshop!).

Anyways ... the cards: (can you spy a theme running through all three?)
Happiness
I'm still not too sure about this card ... for me it seems like a little something is missing. I think it needs texture, but I don't have any of the SU Texturz plates yet (my first order will have them in it!) and because it's a class card, I had to stay with in the SUO guide. Still, it's simple but pretty. What do you think?

Stamps: Sweet Stems, Warm Words
Paper: Pink Pirouette, Rose Red, Raspberry Tart DSP, Whisper White
Ink: Stazon™, various for colouring
Accessories: Dimensionals®, Curly Label Punch, Vanilla HPH, Regal Rose wide Grosgrain, Top Note Die

Friend to Friend
This card is a sketch challenge, from 2Sketches4U, by Kazan. I loved the sketch as it felt so different for me. Normally, I may have added a row of brads, but I only had so many and too many class attendees to share them all! The piercing worked and actually I really liked how it turned out. I combined this sketch with a theme challenge by Shellie Gardner, to have a "loving" theme. I think this fits the bill, don't you? I think this is my favourite card of the three!

This one uses everything included in the current "Love You Much" bundle (available until January 31st). You can order this pretty Love You Much Bundle (new stamps, coordinating punch and designer paper, #115405) at a 20% savings! You can visit my online shop anytime between now and the 31st to order yours!

Stamps: Love You Much
Paper: Candy Lane DSP, Very Vanilla, Riding Hood Red, Pink Pirouette
Ink: Stazon™, Pink Pirouette
Accessories: Curly Label Punch, Dimensionals®, Pink Pirouette Striped Grosgrain, Mat Pack & Piercer, Scalloped Edge Punch

Buzzin' By
This card turned out GREAT! I love the colours. I have no idea off the top of my head if this paper is current or retired ... guess I should figure that out, eh? Either way, the colours suit the bee perfectly. I don't think I often use these colours for cards ... need to try it more often! The sketch is from Mojo Monday (#70).

Stamps: Just Buzzin' By
Paper: Hawaii Papaya DSP, Barely Banana, Chocolate Chip, Tangerine Tango
Ink: Stazon™, Chocolate Chip Craft
Accessories: Accents & Elements Flower Fusion, Fire Circle Rhinestone Brads, Curly Label Punch, Dazzling Diamonds glitter, Clear EP, Dimensionals®, Coluzzle, Kiwi Kiss Striped Grosgrain

eta: it's not current but I think Pink Flamingo or Good Morning Sunshine would make great substitutes!

Hope you like what you see! Thanks for stopping by!

Cupcake Challenge Anniversary!!

Taylor is celebrating the one year anniversary of the Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge! Each of the ladies on the Weekly Cupcake Crew has designed their own sketch for the celebration. I'm featuring Jami Sibley's sketch challenge. You can check out the sketch on her blog and find out about the prize you can win by participating!

I made this card using an American Art Stamp image called "Chocolate Rose". I thought it perfect for this sketch seeing as how there are cupcakes in this image!! I actually gummed up the sentiment which was originally on the main image ... smeared it before it was dry :(. But, I covered it nicely with the circle punch!

These other uber-talented ladies are also playing along with Jami's sketch! Check out their blogs to see what they've come up with for same sketch!

Don't forget to check out Taylor's blog, the anniversary celebration headquarters, for all of the sketch challenges as well as an awesome grand prize for one random winner who participates in ALL 9 sketch challenges! We hope you'll help us celebrate this yummy occasion!

Stamps: Chocolate Rose, Happy Valentine's Day (American Art Stamp)
Paper: Real Red, ?SU DSP (retired), Java (Bazzill), Pure Luxury (GinaK)
Ink: Memento, VersaMark®
Accessories: Red Dragon EP (Stampendous), Liquid Appliqué, Dimensionals®, Dew Drops, Copic Markers

P.S. Kim, I tried to email you back but it kept bouncing back to me! I guess I should have an acronym spot on my blog! When I use DSP, it means double-sided paper. The majority of paper I use is from Stampin' Up. If it's not from SU, I try to indicate the company!

Celebrate Baby

So, what do you think of my new blog look? I was getting a little sick of the previous rendition ... I found it a bit busy with too many little logo's and widgets etc. They're all still here, but located at the bottom of the blog, all in one spot! Let me know what you think of the look and of this:

This is the last VSN card I made. I only did three of the many challenges. I only have so much time, you know, and I try to make the most of the time I do have! Anyways, this challenge was to use: something blue, something new, something old, something borrowed (or gifted 'cause it's hard to "borrow" something permanently!).

Something New: the alphabet is one I had to mount to use!
Something Blue: the sailboat, patterned paper, butterfly ...
Something Old: the Soft Sky cs is relatively old
Something Borrowed/Gifted: the "b" is from my last stamp club embellishment exchange!

At our last stamp club meeting, rather than doing a card swap over the Christmas holidays, we decided to have an embellishment swap. I used one of them on this card. The "B" was made by Michelle! I just love this idea. It's something I rarely think of doing, but it is just so perfect!

I also combined this card with Jen's SFYTT. Hope you like it!

Stamps: Nursery Necessities, Taffy Alphabet, Family Phrases
Paper: Soft Sky, Whisper White, ? DSP, chipboard
Ink: Certainly Celery, Baja Breeze, Old Olive, Summer Sun, Not Quite Navy, Bashful Blue
Accessories: Scallop Edge Punch, Dimensionals®, Old Olive Grosgrain, retired Organdy

MFT Scrapling

Another VSN challenge was to make a scrapling. Now, I had no clue what a scrapling really was. I've heard of them, but it never really interested me to find out more until I saw Frances' challenge!

So, this is what I came up with. The idea is that the scrapling could be used as a bookmark! The card itself is 3"x6". I love this Isabelle Paper Doll set from MFT and think it makes a perfect bookmark image for a girl!

Hope you like it as much as I do!

Stamps: Isabelle Paper Dolls (MFT), Absolutely Fabulous (SU)
Paper: Bashful Blue, ? (retired) DSP, Basic Black, Whisper White, Tempting Turquoise
Ink: Palette Noir
Accessories: Copic Markers, Scallop Edge Punch, Dimensionals®, Eggplant Grosgrain, Prima flower, Rhinestone

Colour Throwdown

This week, there was an interesting colour combo challenge issued by the Colour Throwdown gals! I loved this combo but it was a challenge to find the right balance of colour without it looking liked someone barfed on it ... I made this card for that Birthday card class I held last Friday. I was inspired by a card I'd seen by Jodi that had the circles of another colour layered on top. I thought it looked interesting and fun!

The cupcake pieces are stamped on DSP/card stock and cut out, the icing being popped up with dimensionals. I covered the candle with glitter. Anywho, hope you like it!

Stamps: Crazy for Cupcakes
Paper: Certainly Celery, Whisper White, Riding Hood Red Patterns DSP, Baja Breeze, Pumpkin Pie
Ink: Whisper White Craft, Stazon™
Accessories: Dazzling Diamonds glitter, Dimensionals®, 3/4" circle punch, Silver Brads, Riding Hood Striped Striped Grosgrain

I was also awarded with the "I Love Your Blog" award by Lisa! Thanks so much, Lisa! I'm supposed to pass this blog on, but I'd rather not ... there are so many talented blogs, it's hard to pick just a few!

mini VSN Challenge card!

Hi everyone!!! I actually participated in VSN on Saturday with a friend of mine. What is VSN, you ask? Well, it's an acronym for Virtual Stamp Night where a challenge is issued and you have 45 minutes to complete each challenge. There were quite a few challenges! I didn't do all of them, maybe three and this is the first one. The challenge here was to use something soft. I pulled out my Fun Flock and put it on the Angels' dress!

This Angel is from a set called Angels 5 from American Art Stamp. Isn't she just gorgeous? I thought I'd give this card to my mum, who really is so special to me. I had made this card for the ODB sketch challenge but realised that I'm supposed to use an ODB stamp! *oops* I'll make another later this week! This one though DOES fit for the Sugar Nellies challenge: to use three different DP's and three different embellishments!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Stamps: Angels 5 (American Art Stamp)
Paper: Crate Paper DSP, Brushed Gold, Shimmery Vanilla
Ink: Palette Noir
Accessories: Copic Markers, Fun Flock, Hodgepodge Hardware, Black Satin Ribbon, Gold Brads

Love Birds

Did you know I'm guest DT for American Art Stamp this month?! I received a package of AAS images in the mail from Michelle when I got back from BC and this was one of the images. It's called Love Birds #2 and is absolutely perfect for Valentines!

In catching up with the challenges I try to regularly play in, this is a combination of Julee Tilman's Mojo Monday 69 and Kristina Werner's Colour Inspiration. I missed the posting deadline for Kristina's but I still wanted to play with the colours! They're fabulous colours together. I hope you like what I've come up with!!

Stamps: Love Birds #2 (American Art Stamp)
Paper: Pure Luxury (GinaK), Ruby Red, Pumpkin Pie, Pretty in Pink
Ink: Palette Noir, Pretty in Pink
Accessories: Copic Markers, Prima's, Designer Bouquet Buttons, Linen Thread, Swirls CB Folder, Tangerine Tango Striped Grosgrain, Dimensionals®

A Couple Challenges

I received some American Art Stamp images in the mail when I got back from a family reunion/birthday celebration. Isn't this image awesome? It's called "Couple in Love" and I just LOVE it! Super fine image, beautiful to colour. So, I went off to work happily with this image! I combined two challenges: the OCC challenge to use blues and the sketch over at 2 Sketches 4 U. An interesting sketch and colour palette.

I started off my stamping my image and colouring it in with Copic markers and then the rest flowed from here. The DSP is also embossed with the Swiss Dots CB folder. The flowers were coloured using Copic markers.

Hope you like it!

Stamps: Couple in Love, With Love From Me To You (American Art Stamp)
Paper: Pure Luxury 120lb (GinaK), Baja Breeze, Not Quite Navy, Le Jardin DSP (retired)
Ink: Palette Noir, Not Quite Navy
Accessories: Colour Me Flowers (ATS), Jumbo Eyelet, Half-back Pearl, Nestabilities, Dimensionals®, Copic Markers, Blue Organdy, Scallop Edge Punch, Swiss Dots CB Folder

SFYTT

**this is my second post for the day, scroll down to see the other one!**

I have a class tonight making birthday cards. Convenient too, because Stamp Something has a challenge to make a birthday themed card! Each attendee will be making six cards, two each of three designs and this is the first one! I used Jen's Sketch For You to Try as I just loved the layout and it worked so well. She has an added perk of "blog tarts"! Jen has unveiled a fabulous new look to her blog and she's celebrating by offering this huge blog candy. BUT, there's a twist, and a good one. Each participant needs to mail their card to the Dallas Baptist University to be used by them in giving cards out to their students. What an awesome ministry!! I know that when we were far from home, it sure was nice to receive a card in the mail or in person. It helped a ton! So, if you'd like to participate, just follow the info from THIS post.

The card itself is simple and fun. I had to be carefully with the embellies I added, because I only have so many and there are quite a few people attending! So, hopefully you like this one and if you have any questions, feel free to email me!

Stamps: Crazy For Cupcakes, Short & Sweet
Paper: Not Quite Navy, Kiwi Kiss, Urban Garden DSP, Basic Grey, Whisper White, Baja Breeze
Ink: Stazon™, Bashful Blue Marker, Real Red Marker, Not Quite Navy Marker, Old Olive Marker, Going Grey Marker, VersaMarker®
Accessories: Scallop Edge Punch, 1/4", 1/2". 3/4", 1" Circle Punches, Designer Bouquet Buttons, Pewter Build-A-Brad, Silver Brads

Verve Release Challenge!

There's a new release over at Verve Stamps and Julee issued four challenges to celebrate (and perhaps even win the new release!)!! I'm sure you know by now that I LOVE a challenge and this one was perfect in timing. My hubby, a pastor, said to me the other day that he's running low on certain kinds of cards *GASP*. I'm such a negligent card-maker!! Kidding ... I have tons of cards, just not the ones he needed ... moving on: I had these Plain Jane stamps from a couple of releases ago and not yet inked them up (that's almost blasphemy, isn't it?!) and they were perfect for what Paul needed so that's what I did!

The first challenge was a colour challenge that I actually used for all four cards. Here's the closer up shots of each card. I'm not going to go into stamping deets other than supplies, but if you need any info, just email me (there's a link in my sidebar)!
