Card Patterns Sketch 39!

Some of you may know (and for those that don't, read on!), my husband has been slowly working on getting his masters degree at Calvin Seminary. He finally graduated this past May and so the next and final step is ordination! That's happening today, thank you Father!!! So, of course, being a good little cardmaker, I just had to make Paul a special card for this occasion. But really, what do you tell a guy for getting ordained? I've never witnessed an ordination before ... I just stuck close to what was in my heart and went with it! and of course, I tied it in with this week's sketch from Card Patterns :)

I used some retired Designer Series Paper for the main inspiration of colour for this card. The floral image was coloured in using an alcohol based marker and then cut out and popped up using dimensionals. I tied the bow using a bowmaker (there's no way I could make a pretty bow without that!).

Thanks for taking the time to visit my blog today!! I'll try and get out to blog hop next week (it's crazy here --> lots of friends and family visiting for the weekend)!!! Please check out the Card Patterns blog to see what the rest of the team made!!

Congrats to your husband! I know it's been a while coming and you must both be relieved that he's finished and will no longer need to be away for long periods of time.

Your card is beautiful and I'm sure he loved it!

Hi Renee, this is a wonderful card that you have made to celebrate the ordination of your husband, the layout is beautifully simple and clean, and the colours are gorgeous.
'Peaceful moments spent in praise open our hearts to a world full of blessings'
- I am not sure where this saying comes from, someone wrote it in a card to me years ago and I have always loved it. So as you and Paul continue your walk with the Lord I pray that many will walk along side you. Congratulations to Paul!!
Sally :)
