Express Cards Class Card #3

Sunday, July 5, 2009

Stamps: Pocket Silhouettes, Stem Sayings
Paper: Kraft, Sweet Always DSP (retired)
Ink: Stazon™, Whisper White Craft
Accessories: Eyelet Border punch, Latte Designer Buttons, Olive Grosgrain, Stampin' Pastels

This is the simplest of all four cards. I really love how easy this one is to create! We used the "Poppin' Pastels" technique on the flower -- stamp in white craft ink and dauber pastels/chalk over the wet ink (and dab, don't swirl). The chalk sticks to the ink and stays! Once the craft ink is more dry, you can carefully wipe away any excess chalk although I sometimes like a blurred image. Another thing, with this card having the punched bottom edge I folded after I punched so the front wouldn't look odd!

Thanks for visiting, have a great day!

Love the stamping on kraft! So pretty! Great idea to punch then crease the paper...I'd have never thought of that...rofl!

Beautiful card Renee! I love the poppin' pastels. I haven't done that for soooo long, I'll have to break those chalks out soon!

What a cute way to add a flower, at the end of the sentiment like that and the button--TOO cute. The whole thing is simply brilliant! :O)

This might be the simplest out of all 4 but it is my favorite!

So you punched the bottom edge first and then folded the card, right? What a great tip- I've always done it the other way around and yes, it's hard to get that punched edge looking right. Brilliant tip!

TFS! Just so pretty and soothing to look at!
