I've had a busy week! That's why I've been showing you projects made eons ago ... :) I got all my windows, screens, and blinds clean yesterday along with de-cluttering my upstairs. It looks nice and now I just have to keep the kids from touching the windows .... and, here's today's card!!
Stamps: Inspired by Nature, Define Your Life Paper: Kraft
Ink: Whisper White Craft Ink, Stazon™
Accessories: White Taffeta, Button Bouquet, Linen Thread, Stampin' Pastels, Dimensionals®, Scallop Edge Punch
This is a card I'd made for last week's sketch challenge. I really love Kraft on Kraft and with the Whisper White sponging, it really pops it, don't you think? I pulled out my pastels which haven't been used in eons ... the "Poppin' Pastels" technique is perfect for darker card stock, though! I really wanted those flowers to show up, and soft and elegant at the same time.
What's Poppin' Pastels, you ask? Well, it's a really cool technique that uses these three products in addition to your card stock:

All you need is the Stampin' Pastels (
105542), Sponge Daubers (
102892), and a Whisper White Craft ink pad (
101731). Simply take your chosen image and stamp on darker card stock. While it is still wet, daubing your sponge dauber in the pastels, pounce the chalk where you would like it . Make sure to use an up and down motion, not swirling or the Whisper White ink will smear. Because the ink is wet, the dry chalk will stick to the ink and hold your image. You can leave it as is, or to be extra sure the chalk won't rub off, simply spray some hairspray over the image to fix the chalk forever! All of these products are available for purchase through my
demonstrator website or by contacting me!
I thought I'd give this card to the people who have really helped me out while Paul was away. They were amazing. They took my children and I skiing, took me out to a movie and got a babysitter, checked up on us, helped me out with a brief episode with our hot water tank (nothing serious, thankfully), and most of all: they purchased my flight to Grand Rapids to visit Paul. Words really can't express how grateful I am to this couple. I know that they are a special couple :)

Renee, this is a beautiful, beautiful card for some obviously very special people. Love how the colours pop so vibrantly - must try this!! (Had used pastels only with Versamark, but love the richness of colour on Whisper White. Thanks for the inspiration, lovey!) Christine xx
Renee, this is gorgeous!! Love the poppin' pastels on the Kraft paper. So soft and a little bit earthy at the same time! The pop of the white bow is fantastic!
