Well, this past Sunday's Featured Stamper was none other than Dawn Lusk, a previous Dirty Dozen contributor and a fabulous artist! Hoo boy ... how does one go to case someone like that?! LOL :) So, anyways, I chose to case a card of hers that you can find by clicking HERE. I kept the basic layout although I didn't use an oval seeing as how I'm oval-tarded (hee hee!) --> that really sucks too 'cause sooooooooo many sketch challenges lately are using ovals and circles and I just don't like them on cards ... but, I digress ...

I tired to keep the same feel of the card while keeping it in "my style" even though I don't feel I have any particular style. It's still soft, still distressed-ish, and somewhat detailed. I pulled out the Embrace Life stamp set and set about playing with it. The flower was stamped three times (for each flower) and then I coloured, cut them out and layered them with dimensionals.

and, I LOVE these colours together. It's too bad that Kiwi wasn't an In Colour for this new year coming up! Although, Stampin' Up! did indicate that we should "hold on to our previous In Colours" as you never know what may come back. That's a pretty good hint that we may see a new colour family, eh?!

So, thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!

oh, and the new catty starts TOMORROW! Have you seen it? Do you have it? Well, I do have a few extra's so if you're Canadian and don't have a demonstrator, please contact me to get your copy! I have a "New Catty" class scheduled for later in the month that you won't want to miss! Just check my demonstrator website for details!

Oh, this one took my breath away! And YES, I agree - it's too bad Kiwi is retiring because it looks wonderful with the new In Colours. I cannot wait to see what SU! meant by "keep your old colours".... I would love to restock on some of the previous cardstock colours!

Cindy :)
