Flitting By & Framed Art

sorry for the lack of posts over the past couple of days!! I've been a busy beaver finishing up my two daughters' room! We're finally finished other than a few decorative touches (ie curtains, quilt cover ...). When I'd seen the latest addition to the Décor elements line that Stampin' Up!® unveiled in October, I right away knew that the "Flitting By" vinyl art was just perfect for my girls!! I had fun putting them up (and man, was it ever easy!) all over the place. Well, not all over the place; they're in three different spots in their room. I didn't want it to look like a butterfly zoo display ... :)

And, you can see the frames I made for each girl. I started by purchasing a couple of shadow box frames from Ikea (these ones are called "Ribba" and are about a 10" square). My girls are little magpies (they love shiny and bright things!) so I searched high and low at a dollar store for all sorts of different baubles. My older daughter Hannah loves pink and Maria loves purple so that's the main colour of baubles that are in each respectively. I also included some white to tie them together. I figured that as they get older, the stuff can be changed to suit their current taste. Easy evolving décor!

Anyways, I die cut the letters using the Serif Essentials alphabet dies for the Big Shot. They've been versa marked, heat and sticked, and glittered using the Chunky Essentials glitter.

The room turned out perfect! They were both ga ga over their new room and I hope you like it too!!
