Andrea Walford has a "Stampin' Up!® Makeover Monday Challenge". The basic premise is to take a card you really really like but that is not made with SU stamps. You then, re-make the card, keeping the same layout, using Stampin' Up! only supplies. It shows you that you don't *need* to buy that particular stamp set to re-create the idea. Sometimes, what catches your eye on a piece of artwork may be it's colour, it's layout, or it's embellishments. A challenge like this gives you opportunity to look more closely at what you like and why.
I chose THIS card by Elizabeth (ebethneu) on Splitcoast Stampers to case. I really love the layout. The accordion is what caught my eye. I loved how she created a scene inside as well, but chose not repeat that exactly inside my version. I made this baby boy birth announcement theme and figured that although it's too late to mail this out for Mattias, I can use it in his scrapbook! So, what do you think?
